Mindy Lawrence’s fantastic novel is in print. I was thrilled to see it, then read it in a day and a half. I can’t wait to read her sequel when the journey continues in Egypt! Bravo, Mindy!!

Great story with two stellar main characters. This story had everything for me— authentic to time period, descriptive language, humorous and playful, plus well-balanced in its Egyptian details. I found it fascinating.By the end of the book, I realized I’d been taught as well as been entertained. There’s even an index of references included— M Lawrence knows her stuff!A book that has nice thickness and good printing quality (I’m a sucker for a good paperback). My only regret is the story was so engaging I finished it way too fast. Can’t wait for book number 2!A note: Lawrence’s warning about sensitive content shouldn’t steer anyone away from this book. I think she was being respectful of her reading base. It’s so slightly alluded to, without any kind of explicit details, that it’s easy to miss. I would comfortably recommend this book to anyone, even a younger reader.

Pleasantly surprised to see a new author in Kindle Unlimited. Congratulations!Well paced and well written, I would describe this as a plot driven story. While the two main characters are understandably fleshed out, the peripherals, with one exception, are largely stock characters who essentially serve as plot devices. But said plot does clip along and kept my interest. The developing romance was believable and quite sweet. And I appreciate that the author did her research, which upped this to 5 stars for me.I do have to note that after the warning from the author in beginning, I kept expecting a far more complex situation than what transpired to occur, even thinking there would be a last minute twist, but it never happened, leaving me a bit puzzled.

I absolutely loved this book. The plot, setting and period are all fantastic, great details everywhere. Love that there's a focus on the actual academic side of the story. I want to listen in on Dr Carter's lectures, they sound fascinating! And the romantic pairing is just so lovely, a beautifully paced slow burn with some really authentic and tender moments. This will definitely be a book that I revisit.

I could not put this down! I instantly fell in love with Daniel, Jenny, and the time period! I was worried for them up until the final pages and am thrilled there will be a continuation to this story ! Cannot wait to see what’s in store for them. I thought all of these characters had such distinct voices. The conflict was incredibly stressful. The chemistry was on fire! Wonderful read!

I can’t say enough about this story. Charming and romantic with some intrigue and archaeology thrown in. Left me feeling all warm and happy. I couldn’t put it down. Could totally see it as a Netflix series. Can’t wait for the sequel!

Part forbidden romance, part mystery, all entertaining! I look forward to the next books in the series.

A fiesty, determined heroine persuing her dreams in a man’s world; this story is captivating and enthralling. I love the depths of the characters and the unexpected, unique, page-turning plot. You can’t help but fall in love with Daniel and Jenny. I can’t wait for the next instalment!
