I love how sharp they get my knives , they work well and feel high quality even though they are cheap. There is nothing I don't like about this stone . I use it often !

I'm new to honing straight razors, and I got this instead of the Norton 4k/8k because it was a quarter of the price. Since I'm new, take my review with a grain of salt. However, I used this to bring a bevel back to a 110 year old straight razor I found at an antique shop, and it shaves pretty well. I haven't received the finishing stone I bought yet, but so far the 8K does the trick. I also have a ~13 year old razor that was great, but I stopped using it for a while because it was in a house fire. But this 8k brought the edge back. I'm still working my way through learning the sharpening process. It appears everyone has their own ideas about how it is done. But I don't see any need to spend $100 on a Norton stone when this one performs just as well at a fraction of the price.

which is the whitestone the blue or white

Ive had many stones in the past and this is one serious stone. The edge it puts on a blade is smooth and razor sharp. Best thing i recommend it is soaking the stone submerging it for at least a few hours. it helps really get that edge you want on your knife, etc.

Very nice, wish it had rubber on bottom of wood so it won't slide around, but the stone gets the job done nicely.

Works perfect for what I needed it for

This is the first water stone I have owned, but have always been put off by the price of the Japanese stones. When I saw this reasonably priced one I decided to give it a try. My stone arrived promptly and undamaged, as have all of my Amazon purchases. So far I have tried it out on several knives which needed resharpening, a couple of chisels, and a plane iron. It put an excellent edge on all, and was easy to use. I especially like the generous width of this stone.It is a great sharpening stone for the price. You can’t beat the double sided 3000/8000 grit block for all around use. I’m very pleased with the stone and can highly recommend the product.

Out of the box, there was a deep scratch in the middle of the 3000 face. One of the corners was chipped off as well. But the real problem is the Grids on this stone. The 3000 face of this stone is much coarser than the 1000 grid face of my other Japanese stone. I don't think it's really 3000/8000 it feels more like a 300/1000
