I bought this cable so that I could hopefully attach my Garmin Satnav to my laptop to get map updates. Cable connects ok and I can see my device in Windows explorer and its file system. But the Garmin Express software won't acknowledge presence of the device. Not sure if that's a software issue or a cable issue so it's hard to give this a fair review. I've read subsequently that some USB cables are designed to just power devices and are not necessarily data carriers. This seems unlikely in this case though because I can see the file and folder structure of the device.
