Can't be beat for this price!
Received my Phoibus Ocean Master 1000m with black dial a week ago. So far I am very happy with it. It is a very nicely made watch given the price point, and several tiers above. Don't care for rubber straps, so I replaced it with a stainless steel amBand which I ordered at the same time (see pictures). This upgrade really works well and gives the watch a nice additional amount of heft which helps it move around on your wrist, greatly improving wearing comfort, and looks great! The watch itself, as I said, is very nicely made, with interesting sculpting of the case. It's not too thick and, for me, just the right size - not too big as many deep dive watches tend to be, but not "vintage small" either. Just right. The sapphire crystal is a real bonus at this price, and the case back is also nicely done with an engraved octopus and laser etched Ocean Master lettering ("Named" watches are more desirable for knowledgeable collectors, and so this is also a bonus.) The helium release valve adds "dive creds" . The bezel, too, is worth a mention. It turns easily, lines up perfectly with 12, and has a nice semigloss finish with a quality-looking font and a bright dot at 12 with excellent registration. What I like best about this Phoibus Ocean Master is the lume (see pictures). it is simply outstanding. The big minute hand and small hour hand make for readability at a glance in total darkness, including the dot at 12 on the bezel - all night. The equal of my Omega Seamaster Pro, which I always regarded as a lume benchmark. Again, an impressive feature at this price.Altho the watch is made in China the Swiss Ronda 515 quartz movement is certainly better than a typical Japanese or Chinese quartz movement. Altho this movement isn't particularly high grade, having only one jewel, it should give good service for many years and is readily available as a replacement, should the need ever arise. This can't be said of most Japanese and Chinese movements. The seconds hand [mostly] lines up well with the minute marks (or seconds marks if you prefer), and has a nice solid "tick". In the course of the past week, it hasn't gained or lost any time, which is what I would expect from a decent quartz movement. It's rated at -10/+20 seconds a month, but should do MUCH better than this. "Time" will tell.Bottom line: you can't go wrong with this timepiece for this price. Whether you're really a deep diver or just like the bragging rights of a 1000 meter dive rating (that's me :) ) I think you will enjoy wearing and looking at it, without any trepidation about wearing it in the wet.

Almost perfect.
A very nice time piece. Not cheap or lacking in quality. Here is what dislike and like about this watch.cons:1. dial has a sunburst type "sheen" to it. The glare can be distracting to efficiently read the time. Some may like it, or find it a non issue. I unfortunately would rather not have it. It is distracting to me.2. The second hand could be larger it is very thin. Most likely to conserve power.3. Hour hand would be better if it had a white colored border.Pros:1. Great case, very comfortable.2. Second hand hits the dial marks. This is hard to find in any quartz watch.3. Band is great, Nice and long.4. Lume is really good.If the above cons were fixed, this would be the perfect watch for me tastes. This is a very well made watch. With just a couple of personal set backs.

A watch that doesn't pretend. Lot a quality at an awesome price.
So, I had never heard of Phoibos until I happened upon this watch. I was in the market for a new dive watch after denting my previous watch and wanted something I wouldn't have to baby. Well, this thing is a performer. This thing just works. Water, mud, falling of the rope. She takes it all. A quick hose down and she is ready to fit in at work. Also the fact that it isn't an Omega or a Rolex does quite a bit to keep me from getting mugged when I travel. Bezel is solid and crisp, glow is more than adequate in low and no light conditions, and she is definitely waterproof. Overall, I am very pleased that I decided to give this brand a try. There is a lot of quality at a very good price.

I never thought I would buy a watch made in China but the online reviews were good and decided to give it a shot
I've had this watch for about 2 weeks now and so far I'm very impressed. I've been collecting dive watches for about 20 years now and this Phoibos has become one of my favorites. I never thought I would buy a watch made in China but the online reviews were good and decided to give it a shot. The quality is there and I think you would be hard pressed to find a better dive watch under $200. If it were solar powered (like a Citizen eco-drive), it might very well be the perfect inexpensive dive watch. I'm looking forward to diving with it during my next Caribbean cruise.Update - I'm still very happy with this watch. Since I have a smaller wrist, I contacted Phoibos and ordered a shorter rubber band for my watch. I think the new band looks and feels better than the original.

Let Down.......
I was really impressed with this watch when i first received it however after about 4 months of owning it i had to take it in to have the battery replaced. Six months later it kept stopping again and i couldn't believe it would need a new battery so soon. It was one month past my warranty expiration so i took it to a jeweler who told me the screw in pin was too long and interfered with the movement. $75 to repair. I can't imagine i did anything outside of regular use to cause this type of defect. I'll wear it until it dies again but i'll never buy another Phoibos.

High steel grade 316 and sapphire crystal
The phoibos dive watch offers such good quitlty I have owed several Rolex Omega Breitling had to sell them back 2009 due economic crisis. 316 steel grade sapphire crystal can't go wrong, to get this quitlty you have pay thousand on the swiss watches. The problem I have with seiko and citizen they don't offer this up grade like phoibos does, just let me say this there is no perfect watch from defects. I have had a Rolex, omega even a Oris that were bad, with said buy enjoy.

Small but Mighty
Very satisfied. Really impressed with the case and bezel contours that even the major player divers do not have. Great decision on making it unique. It has an eloquence for a mini divers. Even though I am drawn to bigger divers bigger that 42mm in diameter, thought I would make an exception. Stainless steel brushed is really nice especially when the sun hits it. Hence the "Shining One" that it is. I am proud to show off at work. For the price and being a quartz I am content. Not heavy or light but built very tough. Highly recommend if your looking for a classic retro look divers. My motto when shopping watches Simplicity is best and the PX005C gives you just that.

Fantastic value for money
Amazing value for a great dive watch! Feels and looks great on the wrist. You could spend hundreds of pounds on a good dive watch, or you could get this and spend the money you've saved on the rest of your watch collection!
