Do you have to use the top screen protector layer?

Yes it is built in and works fairly well. Once it wears out, you may wish to tear out the membrane, which seems to be electro melded to the back side. Then install your glass protector!

Will the kick stand break if you force it open? It is very difficult to open and I don’t want to damage my new Supcase.

No it won’t break if you force it open. After you open and close it a lot it will get easier to open.

Is there a warranty with this case like Otter Box offers?

This case had a lifetime warranty we use it for everything. My son broke my kickstand that built into the case on my iPad and they sent me a new one. My Husband’s screen protector came off for his Galaxy 20 and they sent him a new one. Just make sure you keep your order number!
