Pain in the butt to build into, but looks really nice
The k8 case looks fantastic once assembled. The build quality is very good for the price point, the metal is thick, the powder coating well made.Building into this case is, however, a huge pain in the rear end. There is no hole for the cpu power cable, and most power supply units do not have a cable long enough to pass the cable through one of the holes on the side and over the cpu cooler. The only two viable options are therefore adding a power cable extension, however with the lack of space behind the motherboard tray, getting the extra cables to fit will prove challenging.Or the only way I found that worked is to pass the cable through the hole designed for the hd audio cable and pass it all the way across the motherboard, underneath the graphics card, all the way up across to the cpu power connector, like how they used to build pcs in the early 2000's... Mind you the hole is mostly taken up by the power supply of course so you need topass the cable through, and THEN put the power supply in... Urgh. The motherboard moreover sits right against the top of the case, there is not even room to pass a fan cable through there so the rear fan cable has to be routed all the way across the top of the motherboard. There is no dust filters. None. Nada. The rear fan is sata power, so it's on , and at full speed 24/7. They do however provide a led connection for motherboards that have that feature, which is neat. And the front button does work changing the led colours of both the rear fan and front led panel. Plenty of options too. And despite being at full power, the rear fan is fairly quiet thankfully. There is ONE hard drive spot. ONE. And it's not well designed at all : you are meant to stick the harddrive right at the bottom of the case, and screw it in from underneath the case. You are therefore required to tilt the case forward, hold the hard drive in place in one hand, while screwing screws from under the case with the other hand. How difficult was it to add a little hard drive cage there with 2 hard drive slots? There is meant to be a space for a ssd underneath where the graphics card goes, on top of the power supply shroud, but... You can't access the holes for it while the power supply is installed. Derp. And the location for it is much too far inside the case which would mean the cables for that ssd would be completely out in the open and ruin the aesthetic of your build...The power supply hole for ventilation is too small and covers half the power supply's fan...And Lastly, they had the brilliantly stupid idea of joining the hd audio and front usb 2.0 together into one long thin and flat cable. If your motherboard, like mine, has the hd audio and front usb 2.0 connectors wide apart from eachother, then tough luck, you either get front audio, or front usb, not both. What a stupid idea that was, seriously.Once you managed to build your pc in this thing, and mind you getting the cable management to look anywhere close to decent is a huge challenge, the case does look very nice. The front panel is very well made, the led lights look very nice, the slightly tinted tempered glass (measured at 3mm thick) is of good quality, and it overall looks much nicer than anticipated. The issue is managing to build your pc in this darn thing... At least airflow was decent and I got good temperatures despite the front being only ventilated from a little strip on one side.

Easy to recommend
I can’t believe the quality of this case for the money. I bought it from Currys but they won’t let me leave a review there, the case is simply too good to not review though. It’s a very clean design, and the glass side panel adds a premium touch to it. It comes with a little zip-packet of all the fixings you will need too which is nice. The power supply is at the top of the case but this is fine for me. There is enough room to tuck away the extra cables in the hard drive space but there’s not a huge amount behind the case, I think this is common though.
