Captain BT :)
There isn't anything I could put into words to justify the sheer greatness of this book. I went through all the emotions reading it. I laughed at Blake's antics, cried (repeatedly) through Cindie and the family's despair and utter sadness, and smiled at the way Blake still finds a way to bring them such happiness, through the memories and messages he sends.I was lucky enough to know Blake by having grown up and continue to be great friends with his sister Whitney. But after reading this fantastic story of his life, Ms. Cindie paints the story of his life so distinctively that anyone reading this will feel like they've know him, regardless of having never met him. What I enjoyed most about this enthralling story is the message that we all must live life to the fullest extent. And that even through the most devastating of hardships, that God has a plan, even though we may not understand it.I cannot recommend this book enough. :)

This book runs you through the entire gambit of any emotions you think you could possibly have.
I first read the book after uploading it on my Kindle in two nights; it's so hard to put it down after you start reading it. I found myself laughing, crying, wondering how I would feel if, God forbid, I lost one of my kids or grand kids, wondering why certain things happen and the domino affect it has on loved ones and wondering if I should question God or accept tragedies such as Blake's as God's way of giving us some deeper message.. Blake and my youngest son, Nick (Ponce) became the best of friends as soon as his mom, Cindie, and her family moved into our neighborhood. So many times I can remember taking my sons water skiing and hydro-sliding with Blake and an assortment of friends all in my boat. When it was college time, Blake was the only one of Nick's friends that I gave a key to my condo to and many mornings I'd wake up to see his feet on my sofa with the rest of him covered with a blanket. Blake loved life and he was truly the life of the party. Cindie somehow captures his essence in her book and I found myself nodding my head and saying to myself "yep, that is the Blake everyone knew and loved". How Cindie found the inner strength to write this book, I will never know but, she is a remarkably strong woman and I truly hope that sharing her fondest memories of Blake helps her get through each and every day. God bless you, Cindie.

Moving!!!
Even pirates go to Heaven: My goodness, I have laughed, cried, cheered, and morned. What a beautiful life story of a young man told by his biggest fan and greatest love, his Mom. This book tells us just how we should live every day and that is to it's fullest, without regret, without a complaining spirit but, with a can do mentality. This young man Blake, went into heaven as if sliding into home base and his Mom Cindy, played a huge roll in his life on earth and his new home in heaven, what a privilege it must have been for her to raise such an adventurous, hopeful, never a dull moment, loving, caring, kindhearted, always there to lend a helping hand stand up guy. I never met Captain Blake Terry (BT) in this life but, I sure look forward to meeting this pirate one day in heaven. My son whom is in heaven and his name is also Blake, had a saying that describes how he and BT both lived their life on earth and that is like "Everyday's A Holiday"!!! I have no doubt they are big buddies in their heavenly home...... Thank you Cindy for sharing your son with those of us that never had the honor of knowing him personally, because now, I feel as though I do. Great job, Mah! I'm glad you wrote this down.

It touched the innermost part of my soul
I bought the book Wednesday and immediately started reading it; I could not put it down. It is so very beautifully written and so very true. Blake and my son Nick (Ponce) were friends from the beginning - they were joined at the hip so, in many ways, he was like one of my own sons. As I was reading the tears began to flow, followed by laughter, more tears, laughter..well, you get the point. Mostly, as I was reading, I found myself nodding my head and saying "yep, that is the Blake everyone knew and loved." Cindie, Blake's mom, captures his love of life, his zero to a hundred miles an hour trip through his all-too-brief life. Blake was a great kid, friend, son, and he grew up to be such a wonderful young man. The book is a testament to Cindie's strength and Blake's profound affect on everyone he met.
