Highly recommend this book
According to recent research by Deloitte and others, the number one global workforce trend is teamwork and spans industries. Effective teamwork allows teams to produce outcomes greater than the sum of any individual member. In their new book "Lead, Motivate, Engage: How to INSPIRE Your Team to Win at Work" Professor Dense Lopez and Pearl Hilliard provide a structured seven-step model for team leaders and managers to create a psychological environment for team members to feel psychologically safe and work interdependently towards their goals and outcomes. As an organizational psychologist, I value the academic research behind their model and "best practices" for enabling manages to build highly effective teams. As a practitioner, their bundled practical tools to use (and specific tips) provide anyone doing team development consulting with proven techniques to utilize for both low and high performing team. This book is brief and well written making it a valuable resource for HR practitioners, coaches and consultants working with teams. I highly recommend adding this book to your own personal resource library.

Finally a relevant and useful business book as a resource for the scholar-practitioner!
I highly recommend this book for both the organizational development practitioner, as well as colleagues in business schools or organizational psychology academic programs. The practical tools and comprehensive team-discussion question and coaching strategies offered in this book prove very helpful with my clients. I agree with the author’s view that the outmoded terms “human capital” and “human assets” for people as employable resources are not engaging nor inspiring. The material on discovery and development of strengths-based teams, maximizing the use of individual employee strengths, was essential reading. In integrating current relevant research into my Managing People & Organizations course for undergraduate business students, the authors' tools and insights are easily adapted for interactive classroom activities. When teaching organizational development and behaviors, the perspectives for exploring career development in preparation for leadership/management roles are particularly useful. I see a hard copy of this book as a necessity for my personal library (because the survey and ready-to-go discussion questions are interwoven throughout the book) as a ready reference.

Highly recommend for career leaders who want productive employees
This is a comprehensive look at leadership involvement and how it can impact employee attitudes thus impact production. It’s not light reading at all. Be prepared to be challenged. I had to read it in little sections and then take breaks to think about it. There are tons of examples on how to execute the steps they recommend, and they walk you through the process with lots of assessments. I feel like you get the workbook with this book because of how hands-on these sections are. This book would be good for someone who wants to focus on maximizing employee production.

Highest recommendation!
I found this book to be the perfect guide for almost any business situation, large or small, whether as an employee or as a manager or leader.I completely loved the idea that employees need to first believe in the integrity of the companies they are working for in order to appreciate the foundation on which they can build trusting and successful relationships with an engaged leadership. From the "V" formation discussion at the beginning of the book to the Valuable Tools feature at the end of each chapter, to the Case Examples, Deeper Dives and Takeaways, there is such an abundance of practical material here to help anyone in the business world. This wealth of industry wisdom, examples, constructive ideas, helpful, supportive and always very positive approaches to problem solving makes this a "go to" book for those of us aspiring to success.Sandra Hobbs, Office Manager
