A pyrotechnician's best friend..
I work in professional pyrotechnics on a semi-regular basis. I am also a hobbyist pyrotechnician, and this tape dispenser has been a lifesaver to say the least. I've used small handheld masking tape dispensers, and they work ok... This however is perfect for the heavier grade 1" kraft paper tape that I prefer over masking tape. The tape I use holds stronger than masking tape, and you need a heavier grade dispenser to hold it down, with a good blade to cut through it. This has both. I can create fuse joints, seal handmade shells, affix small fountains to boards, and repair shell leaders with this heavier tape and the dispenser makes it a one man job, instead of having someone else dispense tape. I'll probably be buying more of these in the future, or maybe a bigger dispenser so I can have more than one type of tape that I use readily available. Quality of manufacture is top notch, I highly recommend this product.

Not your granny's tape dispenser!
I was pleasently shocked at how heavy and sturdy this dispenser is. I was a little surprised to find that they still make robust things like this anymore. In a world where everything is made as cheap and light as possible in order to save money on transportation, this thing is shockingly made of heavy gauge stamped steel thats got a nice durable coat of paint on it. Perfect for my light industrial shop setting. I immediately bought 3 more once I loaded the first one up and used it the first time. My only wish is that the blade was height adjustable as one type of tape I use is very though and it's a little hard to rip off a price because it stretches and bottoms out on the blade guide before it perforates the tape but other than that, it's truly an industrial fixture.

Great product!
I was looking for a way to get tape one-handed. This product works great. Heavy base. Some reviewers said it was not stable enough and would move when getting the tape. It may move a bit, but if you are careful and put the right angle pressure, it works great. I'd say if you are getting a very long piece of tape it would be hard to get the right angle of pressure to do it without moving the base. Great product, has increased my efficiency greatly.

Product arrived bent out of shape. Not well constructed.
I would not recommend buying this tape dispenser. It is not well constructed. When mine arrived, the tape guides were bent and the supports for the tape reel were too wide to support the roller. I had to put it into my bench vise and squeeze it back into shape to accommodate the tape and roller. It works OK now for my basement workshop, but it is kind of lop-sided. I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it, but I probably should. I expected better.

Awesome tape dispenser for bindings on ukuleles/guitars.
I use it to dispense masking tape for bindings. Don't know how I lived without this thing for so long. One inch max width on the tape. Solidly constructed with a good, non-slip base. It's all steel so it's got some mass to it but I wish it was a little heavier as it lifts up a little when pulling the 1 inch tape. To be expected though, much more resistance than 3/4" wide tape so I'll just mount it to a heavy steel plate or something. Highly recommended if you use a lot of short lenghts.

Great idea, but center bar is too short for the carrying notches
The media could not be loaded. This is heavy duty and can hold multiple sizes of tapes. The issue is that the center support bar isn't long enough or the side supports are too wide. So, one side of the bar can sit into the side notch (see video) but the other one falls to the inside. And if you pull the tape, the spool just falls in. Because it's heavy duty it's no like you can push the metal sides in. I'd make the notches on the bar a little deeper as well.Sadly this is beyond the return window.
