WOW!! Just great
Wow.. this book is just great. I soon as read its synopsis, I decided that I am going to read the full series. Every scene written is so explanatory, you can imagine yourself right there.I can say, this was a typical Bollywood masala movie. The heroine gets kidnapped by the villain, she falls for the wrong guy, they love each other fiercely, then the twist comes, hero saves the heroine and at the end all is happy. This was a great read for me. After finishing each chapter, you crave for the next one. At each point you think what will happen next. It holds your curiosity at each level and maintains it till the end. Also, the issue that has been raised in this book is so touching. The author clearly shows the feeling of the girls who are forced into this business and you can feel their pain yourselves. The chemistry between Jake and Lily is just amazing. Its hot and sizzling. The chemistry between two sisters seems very realistic, where one can do anything for the other one.I felt some kind of connection with the book, I even dreamt about some scenes in the book after I finished it. :D Can't wait to get my hands on second book of the series.

My heart is just so full right now💗💗💗
Right from the first page this book has completely dunked its deadly claws into me. I think I've hardly stopped reading and at times with holding my breath to see what happens next.Such a beauty this one turned out to be. Jake and Emily, their story, their feelings and their struggles are going to stay with me for a long time. I was just so scared and nervous as to what would happen next. At one time when something drastic happens in the book, a tragedy, I was literally outright sobbing. My heart was crying out along with them. You'll know which part I'm talking about when you read the book. This is surely a must read if you want to deeply feel a book. So excited to dive into Kayne and Emily and also Joseph and Alexa 's book. Can't wait.💝💖💖💖💖💖

then thought to go through it and wasn't disappointed at all
I purchased this for free, then thought to go through it and wasn't disappointed at all. Overall a good read which deals with human trafficking. I found the situations scarry as the 'I' in the narrative made me feel as if it was me in place of the flesh traders. From outside it appeared to be a normal book with taboo stuff but I was glad to realize that there was depth to it.

"A deeply emotional, dark and captivating read. 4 STARS
"A deeply emotional, dark and captivating read." - Kelly, Perusing PrincessesWow! This book is no easy read but my goodness, does it pack a punch in all the right places! There is no denying it, this book is pretty dark, with glimpses of light and unfathomable beauty. A tale of family, sisterhood and survival. You Loved Me At My Darkest does involve disturbing scenes of kidnap, captivity, violence and rape; like I said... No easy read, yet at the same time there is a welcome reprieve when our main heroine, Lily, starts to build a profound connection with her captive guard, Jake.Immediately, I knew there was more to Jake than meets the eye but I had no idea how this story was to unfold and I must say, I was hooked from the first page. That prologue is not pretty but like the perfect erotic thriller, you can't look away and immediately I knew I was in for the long haul.Lily and Sasha are the true testament that blood is thicker than water. When they are both kidnapped from their last vacationing day in New York City, this once-in-a-lifetime trip to help move on from the grief of losing both their parents, turns into every womans living nightmare. Lily, remains the rock for her younger sister Sasha, she will stop at nothing to protect her but when they get separated at a large mansion run by an evil sex trafficker, their chances of seeing each other again are slim, with escape a near impossibility.Lily, the eldest and most beautiful is lavished with expensive clothes and a nice room, a prison draped in luxury as she becomes one of the 'special collection'.Sasha on the other hand is put into the slave quarters. Her job is to not speak and do as her told. But the message is clear; no one gets to escape, you are sold to the highest bidder as a sex slave, or you leave in a bodybag.Jake is the guard put in charge of keeping Lily safe from harm in between the days that her services are not needed. It has been four years and the things he has witnessed would make a weaker man weep, but Jake has a reason for being in that house, and nothing is going to stop him getting where he wants to be. The game plan is to make it to the top, and he has never faltered or misplaced his loyalties... until now!Lily finds solace in the unlikeliest of places, but can he be trusted? Jake can't get the last collection piece out of his mind, and that can only spell one thing for them both... disaster!*Oh, some of the scenes that unfolded in this book made me want to scream. One minute you feel that ray of hope blooming, that maybe everything will turn out okay, to then... BAM! You get knocked sideways as things turn again on a dime, leaving you speechless and emotionally raw. So, naturally... I loved it! :)Love in its many varying forms can be found in the darkest of places but still be prepared to shed a few tears with this one, and wear big girl pants because you sure are going to need them!

Good read but dark in places
Lily and her sister have lost their parents and decide to take a break from running the family farm in Australia. Excited to be in New York being tourists when they are thrown into the back of two vans. What happens next is brutal and is to break them. They find that they have been thrown into the sex slave world and nothing good can happen.Jake the guard tasked with minding Lily as she is to be part of a special collection becomes complicated when secrets are kept. This book is dark in places but overall a good read.

Brilliant!
Lily and her sister are kidnapped and kept prisoner to be sold to the highest bidder. After being separated Lily is determined to free Sasha before she's sold on and lost to her forever. You Loved Me At My Darkest is the first book I've read by Evie Harper and I'm hooked. At times it's a harrowing and heart breaking read. The characters showed strength and determination throughout which at times had my emotions all over the place. I loved it and can't wait to start the next book in this brilliant series. I highly recommend it!

A good tear jerker with a happy ending
I picked this up a while back but didn't start it because I knew (from the blurb) the premise was dark. When I finally started reading it I could not put it down. Yes, It will undoubtedly make you cry but sometime you need that in a plot to make the sweet ending even better. Sometimes life isn't easy and all roses (or fake drama just to create tension in the plot) but there is still happiness- and that is absolutely what this book gives. Maybe the 'twist' was predictable but it did not ruin anything for me. I loved the bond described between the sisters- it's nice to see a heroin not just have amazing girlfriends or a gay best friend... Both male and female protagonists were relatable and supporting characters well developed and characterised.

I read the first in this series and really liked it. The second was okay but this was was a real struggle to get through. I could not believe that a qualified doctor would act in such an immature way. She changed from a kick ass doctor in the first book to a timid obedient 'child' in this one and the main male character was bordering on having psychotic tendancies which led me wanting to have him sectioned not married happily ever after. Sorry cannot recommend. Stop at the first book.
