23 Chickens (and a bantam duck!) from California to Idaho
This little box served its purpose for us, which was to transport chickens from California to Idaho. The birds were in the boxes for about 27 hours. All survived and there were no tragedies. So that was good. There were some unexpected issues that you should be aware of.First, "medium" is in the eye of the beholder. These boxes are pretty small, and are very full of a 3.5 pound chicken. Second, they are very low, which makes hanging water bottles impossible. We had planned to use drip nipples on 8-oz soda bottles, but that combo was at least two inches too tall to work. We ultimately mounted the bottles on top of the boxes by poking the nipple through the cardboard top. This worked surprisingly well, with the only drawback being the cardboard did get wet, soft and eventually weak so we had to relocate a few bottles during the trip to make it all work. (The boxes were arrayed in the back of our SUV, so we could get to all of them pretty well. That turned out to be important. The other issue is that the boxes don't latch very tightly. We had quite a few chickens suddenly "popping up" out of their boxes, which led to some chickens free-ranging in the SUV during the last several hours of the trip. This was not really our intent, but we couldn't prevent it with some of the more aggressive birds. It was fine since it gave my wife birds to talk to and to sit in her lap, and she wasn't nearly as sleepy during the long drive as she would otherwise have been.We unloaded the chickens in Idaho, and the boxes were just about toast. They were wet, poop-stained, and mostly without working top latches at that point. So they all went to trash, truly a one-use product. But that's what we needed and we were pretty happy overall.

Works Perfect for a Stuffed Animal
For me, this worked perfectly. We had a ferret in the past and my daughter recently got one. Wife loves playing with her "grandson" but not ready to get another ferret for her own. Well, it was our 25th wedding anniversary and I decided to get my wife a ferret that I saw on Twitter. It's not real, it's crocheted. I really wanted to make the surprise as real as possible and bought this pet box but was concerned about all the reviews. Still bought it. Cons: no instructions how to put it together. Although I had a few beers, I figured it out.I put the crocheted ferret in the box and put it in wife's tall nightstand. Wife saw it next morning and thought she had a live animal. She carefully opened the cardboard pet carrier and was relived it was a stuff ferret. So, this did work out for me. There are no instructions to put it together but after a few attempts, got it assembled. Funny thing, I received a box in a box from Amazon.I would say this is an excellent size for animals around the size of a live ferret, live kitten, live gerbil, etc. The box is made of thick cardboard and appears to be solid enough for animals as described above.

Buyer Beware!
I wanted this for cats so I got the Medium. Maybe it's big enough for a squirrel! There are no size guidelines offered. The tote is difficult to put together and once again don't expect help. No instructions included. I complained to the seller and was ignored. Thanks!

Not what I thought I was getting
The description said that it was average in size with no dimensions, so I thought it would fit a cat. Well this average size container would fit a small guinea pig. Very dissatisfied.
