Comme d'habitude, Ludwig von Mises a le regard acéré qui lui permet de comprendre et de voir les fondements ultime de l'action humaine et en particulier de l'activité économique. Ce n'est qu'à parti d'une tel intelligence ("intus legere": lire dans..) des ressorts profonds de l'activité économique et que l'on peut agir correctement : compléter les bonnes - humaines et morales - intentions avec, comme on dit en anglais, "sound economics".

This is one of the most important works in political economy ever written, by a master of the trade. Read this and you become adept in basic economic thinking. You will want to read more. And especially if you are in a Phd program, which will probably mention von Mises in passing. The careful student, however, will want to delve deeply and long, for the lessons here and throughout his writings are fundamental to really understanding the world, and then enabling you to do positive things, rather than simply repeat and push around the drudge.

Original work from von Mises on Austrian Economics and the basics and need for free markets; and if you're reading this, regardless of your age, you (and I ) have never experience true free markets. Brilliant, insightful, and part of any Austrian School follower's library.

The teachings of Ludwig Von Mises could save America if his principles were applied to our current predicament. If America would get away from the damnable doctrine of John Maynard Keynes, and espouse the teachings of this man, then maybe we could have a chance. Read Bastiat's "The Law" and the writings of the Austrian economists and you'll be on the right track.

Personally, I'm not fond of many economic terms so I purchased this book to learn more about the beauty of free markets. However, Mises does an amazing job at explaining concepts in a basic way. And also, everything he explains relates to today's economy. Must read for anybody!
