SureFire EP9 Sonic Defenders Cobalt Max Full-Block Metal Detectable Earplugs, triple flanged design, reusable

I work in a factory and can only wear ear protection that is either a headset or on a tether. I have a pair of these untethered for the firing range and I was thrilled to find that they came out with a factory version. I've been using them for several months now and they've been holding up very well with routine cleaning etc. I wear them for 8-12 hour periods and hardly notice they're even in most of the time. They're very comfortable if you get the right size. I got a Medium after reading other reviewers and they fit my smaller ears just fine after making sure the plugs were twisted in the correct direction.

These work very well and are actually comfortable to wear. They sometimes feel weird when removing as in they create a suction because of the great seal. I like the small size and the little plastic clamshell case they come with that is reusable.

Having owned another set of SureFire's earplugs (EP4), I like these even more. These are very soft and very comfortable to wear, improving upon the experience of the EP4:Instead of a removable tether, these are permanently affixed, a feature I prefer. Another change is the deletion of the noise filters--effectively a hard plastic tube that you could open and close on the EP4's. I did not like this, as the plastic dug into the rim of my ear and caused painful discomfort, plus I didn't really need the variability of the filter--you can't open or close it while they are in your ears.So these are essentially the EP4, but without the filter and removable cord, plus they're BLUE! Nothing wrong with blue.The only reason that these headphones don't get the fifth star is due to the triple flange design. Triple flanges have always been problematic for me, going too deep into my ear. The solution normally is to clip off the 1st flange, but with these earplugs, the result is an uncomfortable seal. I would love to see these in the dual flange design that SureFire makes in a different set, I'm sure it would be much more comfortable.If triple flanges aren't a problem for you, you like blue, and you want to keep your hearing, I suggest these over just able anything else for long term wear, even under a tight motorcycle helmet.

This is very comfortable to wear to sleep and does a great job of blocking sound. I plan on ordering more so I'm never without a pair.

I love these and will definitely purchase more. I prefer inside the ear protection, since ear muffs tend give me a headache and are way too hot in the summer. These are comfortable and fit well.

These ear plugs are good. I have others so these are just ok for me nothing special. One thing, to not note, for some strange reason, my right ear hurt a bit after and hour of using these. The sound quality is the same as all other surefire earplugs in the 26Db range. You can hear conversations but most of the loud noises are suppressed.

These are comfortable and stay in the ear. They work pretty well at the gun range. Not as good as my big ear muffs but much more comfortable. The only downside is that it's hard to see the R and L markings which was easily fixed with a sharpie.

Didn't fit my ear canal nor would it stay in my ear. Tossed it into the round file after one use. Waste of money.

My favourite hearing protection at the range. Regular ear muffs have been hurting my head after couple of hours at the range and these ear plugs work just great. I barely notice them while they are cutting out noice very well. The tread connecting them also ensures you do not drop them on the floor and ensures you won't loose them. They also come with convenient storage container. I'm glad I bought them.

Excellent product, I can hardly hear my circular saw with these in. Downside: I can still hear my wifes snoring.

I've found myself having to readjust these about every 3-4 hours as they somehow slide out of my ear canal. Not sure if it has to do with the material it's made of but I didn't experience this problem with the EP3 that I lost. Other than that, works as they should, keeps my tinnitus prone ears from completely dieing.

I tried to measure the size needed but in the end just went with "medium fits most". Found them very fiddly to put in and they were hopeless at blocking the sound. I enquired with the manufacturer if the large size would be better and they said the actual bit that goes in the ear canal is the same size anyway at which point I gave up. Didn't feel I could return this sort of item so $20 down the toilet and will stick with the cheapo foam plugs which do the job.
