One of those items I wish I invented. Finally does everything you need in a simple way and very affordable price. Bad news was 1st unit I got did not work properly. Light would come on and go right off or would not come on at all when waving in front of it. Emailed the company that sold it ( as the insert in the tiny box said if there were any problems) and in 2 days I got an email back apologizing for the faulty unit and saying they were sending me another one. Took about a week but got another unit in the mail and so far it works perfect.Only at night or dusk does it activate and then by motion only. Perfect amount of light to see your keys and the key hole on our dark gate to our house. Attach back plate by either screws (not included) or by sticky tape ( included ). I went with screws. My only concert is that the unit does not appear to be waterproof. The back of the light unit is open to where the battery compartment is. So when you attach it to the backplate there is a small "gap" between the backplate and the back of the unit. Which means water/rain will get back there where the exposed battery is. So I put a thin strip of duck tape around the edge to seal it up. You could cauk it , but then you would not be able to easily remove it to replace the battery when it wears out. So the duck tape looks kind of ugly. Wife doesn't seem to mind since now she is so happy she can see her keys at night.So they question is will it hold up in the outdoors. Time will tell but for right now it is perfect. And appreciate the customer service to send me a replacement. Obviously these units are all made in China and are cheap so a lot of things like this do have quality control issues. But if the company stands behind it Im good.

I ordered and received one of these November 10th. One of the four LED light bulbs was not working. I put it on the door anyway as I need the light for the keyhole. It was not very bright,probably because one of the bulbs is OUT, and barely shows light on my door knob where the key hole is. I then gave them a 1 star review. Then I received an email from the company Happy Cell saying they'd send me a new one for FREE which I received today, November 21. This one WORKS 100 percent perfect. This company was true to their word. Thanks from a very happy customer! Highly recommend this product to all !

This is my second one. On the first one, the light was somewhat schizophrenic....it would come on over and over for no apparent reason! After 2 months, however, the motion detector quit anyway so that was the end of #1!! So why did I buy another?? Because the damned thing was incredibly handy for the short time it worked!! I have a very dark entry and I always struggled to find the keyhole. This simple little light solved that problem completely......when it was working! The quality of the product is about what you'd expect for a plastic case, made in China, and operating on one AA battery. But...again, when it works....the light is quite bright enough to reveal the keyhole which, after all, is what it's supposed to do! Anyway.....I sincerely hope you hever hear from me again and that #2 gives me years and years of Happy Cell (for, indeed, that is this littke boogers name!) bliss! But we'll see!Uodate! I have now changed my rating to 4-star for two reasons. #1: the second one has been working flawlessly and is extremely handy! #2: the comoany...out if the blue...contacted me because they had read my negative review. They told me that they were sending me another unit and, sure enough, they did!! That's a first fir me; where a company would send a replacement unit unsolicited! Well done,sirs....well done indeed!

This product is great and works well. My only complaint is it was hard to get the plastic off of the double sticky tape that came with it. Also, the first time I used it, it came on and then went off before I was ready. When I waved my hand underneath for a second, it did nothing. Second try worked. I think it has a delay. Overall a great idea and it is bright and lower profile than I imagined.

Revised Review: Company sent me a 2nd light when the sensor on the 1st one didn't work. This one works great & performs precisely as intended. Guess it's a hit-or-miss thing w/ the sensors (a QC issue).Initial Review: Disappointed. Maybe I just got a bad unit, but the sensor didn't work properly so light kept going on/off randomly, yet not consistently when I placed my hand under it in the dark. Probably a QC issue with manufacturer but still, hassle to buy/return/hope to get a good unit.

My front door is in complete darkness if the porch light is not on. I liked the idea of a small motion sensor light above the keyhole. I bought two, one for me and one for my mom (for a gift). The lights came quickly. The company sent a thank you note with the package. It was ready to install. The light is a little bigger than I expected. It just barely fits between the door frame and the door window. It stands out a little more than the deadbolt housing. But it looks okay. A little bulky, but it matches the same brushed nickel as the door hardware. I'm happy with the purchase. Additionally, my mom stopped by the other night and noticed the light and said "Ooo, nice light". At least I know she will like the gift I got her.

This little piece is worth its weight in gold. It only activates when A) it's dark AND B) when it detects motion. So it won't activate in daylight or if there's no nearby motion, which means the battery should last a long time. Light is nice and bright, and illuminates the door knob very well. Comes with double sided tape to stick on your door, which is very durable. Highly recommend.
