Brilliant As The Sun: A retelling of Srimad Bhagavatam: Canto One: The Sages of Naimisharanya Paperback – December 8, 2016

Śrīmad Bhāgavatam is the most essential book of the Vedic tradition. It is Vyasadeva’s explanation of his famous but terse Vedanta Sutra and an expansion of the Gayatri. A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda has translated an extensive version that includes the original Sanskrit, word-for-word, translations and commentaries that include comments from the great Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura, Baladeva Vidyābhūṣaṇa, Śrīdhara Svāmī and others. This version allows one to dive directly into just the translation with a wonderful novel like flow.

A book like this is much needed. The bhagavatam translation by Prabhupada is perfect and wonderful, but sometimes you forget the story aspect while reading due to the lengthy purports.This retelling is true to the original, giving the story and also brief overviews of the philosophy. Only the hope the author will continue with the rest of the cantos.

His Grace’s version is the gold standard and should be read, but when you have questions or need a verse presented a little differently, Krishna Dharma’s version does it well. Namaste.

This book is an awesome rendition of the Srimad Bhagavatam! Very capturing and well written! I recommend anyone who wishes to read that Bhagavatam to wet their taste buds with this book as it gives great encouragement to read the Srimad Bhagavatam!

A beautiful retelling that truly captures the essence of the First Canto. Would be a great introduction to the Srimad Bhagavatam for someone who hasn't read it.

This Book Is EPIC!!!!I could write so much to try advise people reading this review to buy this book, but for me the most important aspect to know is that it's absolutely gripping, humbly written & fully engages the imaginative visual part of the brain and mind.Normally I struggle to read books in general as I usually fall asleep or become lost, but the authors have really done a massive service and credit to Srila Prabhupada by writing and releasing this book.Now I feel completely enthused to read His Divine Grace's other works to deeper understand these most magnificent literature's.Thank you Krishna Dharma & Chintamani.Jaggi.

The latest work of Krsna Dharma and Chintamani Dhama dasi is indeed brilliant : ). It is enlivening, illuminating, clarifying, easy to read, yet delivering the essence of Srimad Bhagavatam. This book is suitable for anyone - for those new to these topics as well as for those who study Bhagavad Purana. I am personally not only benefitting from the important message but also from the beautiful attitude of the authors.Despite preferring reading paper books I have first purchased the Kindle Version, to be able to read it on the ways...Can't await other cantos to come : )

Excellent read. I could not put the book down, once I opened it. Inside this book you will find many attractive narratives that bring you back millennials and allow you to draw from the wisdom of various illustrious sages, kings and worries, as we as noble women. I will read it again.
