I bought this for my 5year old that loves working with modeling clay. This set is nice because there are lots of tool to choose from. Sadly, one other tools broke immediately after 5 mins of using it, so it's not the most sturdy plastic tool, however there are many tools to choose from and the value is good for the money

Half of the tools broke off from the stick on the first use. Also, the pointy tools are VERY sharp and not appropriate for use by children.

These tools are perfect

My daughter and I recently worked on a craft that involved shaping some clay. We found that in some cases our fingers were really the best tools for the results we wanted, but there were some cases where it did help to have a more precise point for creating curves or making precise cuts.Since this set contains 17 tools, there were loads of options for us to choose from.A few of the tools are really only useful if you want to make specific imprints in the clay — seashell shapes, dashed lines, etc. Most of the tools are more general purpose and can be used in a wide variety of ways.My only wish is that it had come with some description of how to best use all the tools. In the video, you can see examples of how someone used the tools, but I would have loved if there was a little printed documentation in the box showing how each tools is used best.Overall, though, this set worked well for us.

The biggest pro to this set is the fact that they’re plastic. There’s only one tool with any metal on it and it’s not sharp. So these are kids friendly.The negative is they’re so cheap, one tool broke in shipping. Great variety but they are a fairly flimsy lightweight plastic. As in I’ve seen better cheap craft tools in kids craft kits.Overall: I don’t think I would buy these but if you want some cheap tools for kids so they won’t break yours they’re probably okay for that.

This is a great set for beginners since everything is plastic which is great for kids. Other clay sculpting tools tend to be made of metal or have sharp edges and these are much safer for kids starting out with clay. My daughter loved these!
