Mr. Hoffer's thoughts show an extreme depth of consideration on his part. His ability to analyze some of the idiosyncrasies of people is amazing. He finds a different perspective, and really makes you think. Don't try to just read through the book. It isn't long. But go through slowly, and contemplate the different thoughts he presents, and see if you haven't incurred similar situations and now understand them a bit better than you did at first. I suppose the book would be considered "cerebral", but if so, it is nevertheless written in a manner that is accessible to anyone who is willing to pay attention.

I've always been a fan of Eric Hoffer and this book really gave me insight to "True Believer". Essentially, the book is several numbered philosophical statements, each one with a focus of passion. With his realistic insights, thoughtful jabs at the mindsets of poor leaders, and real honesty about passion, I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to learn more about this great author.One of my favorite lines in the book states "We have more faith in what we imitate than in what we originate." In a culture where fads and memes rule the day, this is an important thought to foster true creativity. I hope to lend this great book to many of my friends for discussion and further enjoyment.

A rare book that everyone can benefit from reading and everyone can understand. Bonus: written by a real person in modern times who did a lot of good for the world.

Hoffer’s philosophies are right on in today’s world. I read True Believer, this book and Ordeal of Change when paperbacks cost $1.75!I needed a new one and was amazed that these books add true insight and understanding to what is happening today.

Absolutely amazing read and helps with self seeking and self awareness. I highly recommend it.
