Good, works but could be better
Others had said here that it gets very hot. Well it does but I also found that if you drill a pilot hole first and "make it deep enough" i.e. the wanted back-box depth and also the depth of the guide then it works better and cooler. You also need to separate the inner bit and the outer as soon as possible even whilst its hot if possible. Use a vice if you have one.I'm also going to look at getting the guide shortened and If its possible get the blades sharpened a bit as they seem quite blunt.Thought about sending it back as it took longer than expected to drill into a normal soft brick and then I had to work out I needed to drill the pilot hole deeper to accommodate the pilot spigot or whatever you call it.Be careful and measure the depth of the wall you are drilling into so you dont drill the pilot hole too deep and come out the other side.

Dangerous Item.
Not Safe. First use of bit. Before fitting to SDS drill I drilled pilot hole as necessary. Once fitted I ensured bit was securely attached to threaded shaft. I presented to breeze block wall and cut to depth of about 2 cm. The photograph shows what happened. Only in use for 30 seconds. Dangerous when splitting as one part projected 2 feet away from me. Poor quality. Not recommend for either the DIY enthusiast and definitely not for professional use. Box says Guaranteed Forever

Works Well . . . but
Works well . . . but not sure how long it will last. I have done about 12 and it coped well, but if the brickwork and mortar is old then it can damage the brickwork and make fixing the back box difficult as the guide holes use up the centre screw holes or are too close to drill to. So you are then reduced to the outer fixings which if they have missed a mortar line and are sound then you are OK. Works better on new external and internal blocks. Not sure how long it will last and stay efficient as it is as only wear and tear will show. So overall made the job quicker and easier, but can damage the bricks in the process. So whether it is better than pre drilling lots of small holes and then chiseling out the remainder depends on how good you are doing it that way. Bought this with the box cutter and definitely wouldn't buy that again. I was much quicker finishing of the corners with a scutch chisel after this cutter cut the bulk out. The box cutter seems to bounce around too much and causes more damage the brickwork at the back and seemed to take forever to make much of a difference.

Didn't manage one socket
The guide pin broke the first time I used it meaning the other single and double box cutters I bought with this totally useless
