Love the holder, like the nibs.
I like how the oblique angle of the nib is built in but I found that there isn't really a nice wide down stroke with this nib even with heavy pressure. So, with even pressure or light on the up stroke, heavy on the down, the nib lays the same, consistent line. It works great, but it's not my favorite nib (the other 2 in the box are the same). I'll continue to play with it a little more but I have a feeling this is just how it is.On the other hand I really like the holder. It has distinct, flat sides so you can really have a solid yet relaxed grip & feel the angle of the nib in a way that you don't feel with a round holder. It's light weight & made of plastic or acrylic & easy to get nibs in & out of. I used my other copperplate nibs in the holder & really like it.As with all my nibs I put water in a mug in the microwave & get a good, hard boil, then drop my new nibs in for about 2 minutes, swirling them around once in a while. Take them out, dry them off & they accept ink beautifully. Without this step the ink globs on the back of the nib then drops off on the paper not having made anything close to a line. I'm also careful once the nibs are clean to avoid the tips with my fingers because of the natural oils on my hands. I use a paper towel when I put in or take out a nib, that way the nibs stay clean. If I accidentally touch a nib or its just needs cleaning I use rubbing alcohol. I leave the nib in the holder, swirl it around a little in the jar on my desk & wipe it off with a paper towel. I love my British nibs & holders & always take good care of them. I've seen several posts from folks who say they've had trouble with their nibs so I hope this helps.

The nib is just too stiff.
The shaft of the pen looks wooden in the picture, it is in fact plastic. The barrel is not round but a gentle 3 sided design which make it easy to hold. Unfortunately the nibs are very stiff and hold little ink. Upstrokes are almost impossible. There is little contrast between the line made from spread tines and normal down-stroke. The speed of the closing of the tines is too fast for my liking. I much prefer the Zebra Comic G nib it is much more flexible, holds more ink, and easily makes up-strokes.

Not my favorite.
It writes really rough. I have to really press hard to write with this nib. When I press too hard it tears the paper. Up-stroke lines are disappointingly ... not thin and it is hard to create thick lines on the down-stroke. It is a chore and a bit painful to write one full sentence with this nib. Maybe in time I will get used to it and change my opinion.

The line was much thicker than what I had hoped ...
The line was much thicker than what I had hoped, and so I will probably not use these pens.

Don’t buy this
Don’t buy this! Cheap plastic nib holder and the nibs came blended. Just awful!
