Japanese brand, but made in China.
Everything about the product (labeling, packaging, instruction sheet, decal) indicates its Japanese origins, but then it's delivered in a baggie clearly marked 'Made in China'. With that out of the way, it appears to be up to the expected quality; looks fine. I'm not in a position to test the trigger voltage of the embedded gas tube, but perhaps later I'll see if I can sweep it with a VNA to confirm impedance and loss (I'm not expecting any issues). I'll likely use a $100+ Polyphaser for the final stage of protection at the shack entrance; these cheaper ones will be outdoors (in a protective enclosure), closer to the antenna base as the first line of defense. 73.

Oh, My…a Diamond branded item!
Arrived today - fast shipping. I was not expecting to get a Diamond branded item! Matches up to one I bought from Diamond, and paid more money for. Very happy. I took a couple of photos that did not turn out well - however it gives you an idea of what to expect in the Mail.

It's a Genuine Diamond
It's Diamond branded in a sealed Diamond bag, just like the ones I paid 10.00 more for at the radio store. Can't say how well it works.....have not been close to a lightning strike yet, hope I never find out. Have had these on all of my antennas for many years.

Not waterproof
First: this is a Diamond branded arrestor. Good news. According to the enclosed spec sheet, it is not waterproof and should be taped. Since I have it mounted directly to the balun on my inverted v, it is exposed to the weather. Other than that, no complaints.

This is a Diamond arrestor
I purchased this because it was half the price of other lightning arrestors. I figured it looked the same so it is probably "good enough". When it arrived, it was a Diamond product in a Diamond bag. It seems to be well made (for a very simple product) and I can't find any flaws to make me think it isn't genuine.
