Bought this for my 83 year old dad who has myasthenia gravis. As his condition worsens, he has lost mobility in his legs. Getting him out of the house to the doctor is now a major problem. Getting him into an automobile has been helped tremendously by this rigid foot loop strap. It allows him the ability to pull his legs into the vehicle. Also. while sitting at home, he has started using this to help keep circulation in his legs, and exercise them using the strap. For anyone that might have a similar situation, brought on by MG, Parkinson's, knee surgery, this is a great inexpensive device to have around. It comes folded, but it is actually rigid. Just straighten out the rod inside the heavy duty nylon casing when you open the package and the foot strap stays in full length position. The large loop at the bottom is for the foot to slide through, the smaller loop is for holding and pulling with your hand. Works very well, and is built to last. I honestly can't emphasize how much this has helped my family in getting my dad in and out of a car.

This is one of those little things that can make life so much easier. In the first few days/week after my knee replacement surgeries, it was difficult to get in and out of bed, especially lifting my leg up on to the bed and down off the bed on my own. It was impossible to do on my own the first several days (it was too swollen, sore, and I didn't have the control of my muscles yet). My PT had recommend I get one of these before surgery, and I am glad I had it ready when I got home. Our bed is very high, so I can't just lean back on it, I almost have to jump up. It allowed me to be able to get in and out of bed on my own (very slowly), so I didn't have to call family to help every time I needed to get up or down. I know my family appreciated it, especially when I was getting up all through the night and didn't have to wake them to help me.Now that I have full control of my legs again, I don't need this for getting in and out of bed. I have found it helpful to use to stretch some. Even though you only use it for a few days/weeks, it is definitely worth the purchase.

I ordered two of these and almost sent them back. I was expecting a heavy-duty strap, more along the lines of seat belt material (my bad for not paying close enough attention to the description). These have very sturdy metal throughout the entire thing. It takes some muscle to get the loops bent to usable positions and to straighten the folded center part that runs from your foot to your hand. I have hip surgery coming up and have really needed something to help me get in and out of the car for about a year, now. I have been manually lifting my leg. I decided to try the first one before sending it back. Once I did, I realized why it needs the sturdy design, rather than a heavy duty strap I can roll up and toss in my purse, like I expected. It is a huge help! I decided to keep both, so I have one for the house and one in my car.

After two knee replacements, this item distinguished itself as a truly helpful aid for anyone experiencing pain trying to lift your foot using your knee. For the first week or two after each surgery there are some movements involving your foot and knee that will be extremely painful without some kind of very careful movement and support.This very well made little device was perfect and I never wanted to be without it. Getting into and out of bed or a car, at physical therapy, elevating my foot. My ability to lift my foot without pain eventually returned to normal but for those first several days this is a godsend which you easily slip over your foot without any bending or reaching and then use your own hands and arms to quickly and easily move your foot wherever you want without any stress or pain.Did I mention the design and construction are both perfect and would probably last forever even if you did need it that long.

I bought this to help me get out of bed after my second total hip replacement. The first hip they showed me at the hospital how I could wrap a sheet under my foot and lift my leg to slide it over the side of the bed which enabled me to get out of bed without assistance. This works great but the biggest problem was getting that sheet under my foot. Frustrating to toss it several times before it was in the right position.Before my second hip I had done last week, I found and purchased this off of Amazon. It looked great but here’s the big problem for me. It’s its length. I’m 6’ even and it was hard to reach my foot holding onto the rigid part laying completely flat. Anyone who’s had a hip replacement understands the pain of trying to bend forward. Had this product been a couple feet longer, or even a foot, it would have worked great but for anyone over say 5’7” I believe will find it disappointing if you’re wantimg to use it for what I did

I'm about to have a total hip joint replacement in about 3 weeks. From having this procedure on the opposite joint about 8 years ago, I know getting into bed can be a challenge. No problem getting the non-operated bed. But the operated bed can be very uncomfortable and/or with unusual effort. I've been practicing getting in and out of my bed. My bed is several inches higher than optimum height for post surgery such as a hip joint replacement. After reading reviews on Amazon, I decided on giving this product a try. I'm pleased with my purchase. I'm 6 feet tall and wear a size D shoe. This strap works very well. The strap is stiff enough and big enough to manually fashion the strap and the loop into a "lasso" for easy "corralling" of my foot and lifting my leg as required. Price point is good; packaging is appropriate for shipping.

This leg lifter has an aluminum flat bar that runs all the way through. This allows reshaping the ends into a stirrup or a hand loop. A very handy feature. Plus, it’s a flat bar not a round rod. 6 weeks using them for therapy, these features are important. Highly recommended.
