Old Skool SNES Power Input Jack Replacement Port for Super Nintendo

Product works as expected and looks like the OEM part. Installation is simple if you have the tools and can preform some simple soldering.

Had to replace my power port on my Super and this worked perfectly. Colors matched and after watching a YouTube video, I had the project completed in 20 minutes.

I found this SNES with a wrecked power port so I started with looking on YouTube. Sure enough this Old Skool SNES replacement jack was the fix! It took me about 3 hours to disassemble, desolder, solder on the Old Skool replacement, clean the cartridge, clean the console contacts, and then test the console. Recently got a Super Nintendo for free but the plug-in was broken. This did the trick to fix it.

The media could not be loaded.  This part is a perfect replacement for one of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System's most common problems. Since these consoles are now 25+ years old problems with the power connector are becoming very common. Due to the design the power connector is not a separate piece and is integrated into a much larger piece of plastic that is part of the rear case. When the brittle center point cracks or breaks it makes if difficult for the power connector to stay in place. This part is a perfect direct replacement of this piece. The plastic color and feel is a nearly exact match for the original and only the most careful inspection would notice that it is not original. The only reason I gave it 4 starts over 5 is because it does not come with instructions; replacing it is more than a little tricky due to how you have to carefully wedge this piece in under an RF shield that isn't readily removable. The whole process is not too bad if you're experienced with electronics or repair and took me less than 20 minutes to complete the process. I've included a how to video to hopefully assist with your replacement. All in all this is a fantastic part. I wish more repair pieces like this were available for vintage game systems!

I went through the entire process of taking a snes apart and soldering the part in, only to find out afterwards that the AC port is defective. The metal pins stick out, making it impossible to plug in the adapter. Thoroughly disappointed.

First and foremost, this product works as far as I can tell. I'm giving a lower score due to the hassle involved with it. I ordered this and had it in hand. Couldn't fix my SNES though because you have to have specialized screwheads. Ok, ordered those. Then took the SNES apart all the way to the replacement part and there's soldering. Now I have to buy a soldering kit to desolder then resolder it back. I know nothing about soldering so I have to figure that out while I'm at it. The main product page really should warn what other knowledge and hardware are needed for this project.

The center piece of the power receptacle broke out from my SNS-001 model SNES and I was able to use this part as a replacement. The connection will be tight with this new part, but it works.
