GDbow Breath Ketone Analyzer Keto Meter Digital Display Measuring Ketones

I was a bit hesitant to purchase based on the reviews and when I received the unit, I was getting the same results as many. I thought I had been in ketosis for a while prior to the purchase, but I couldn't blow anything beyond a 1 or 2.After several days of trying, I was ready to return the meter. However, I then began blowing higher numbers... 6, 8, 13... I do this immediately upon waking up every morning after at least 12 hours of fasting. While I don't have any other device to compare this too, I can't attest to the absolute accuracy of the meter. But, at least it is showing some change and that is what I was looking for.Regarding the meter itself, packaging, and included accessories, it appears to be decently made. It is simple to operate, and it's nice that it comes with extra mouthpieces. If someone is looking for a rough gauge to determine if they are in ketosis, then I could certainly recommend this meter.

This is much easier to use than ketone urinalysis test strips. I now use this to measure my state of ketosis during extended water fast. Test strips become less accurate as your body becomes more fat adapted but breath analyzers like this stay more consistent. Besides not drinking (or eating) at least 30 minutes before testing yourself, the trick to getting an accurate reading is not to take a deep breath before blowing but to expel the air in lungs by using muscles of diaphragm. Thus technique would be familiar to any saxophone player. That will make sure that air in lungs, where the acetone molecules are present, if any, is sent to the breath analyzer. I found the manual confusing as it showed readings shaded in various colors. This made me think that display on the device would also show these colors, but it doesn't. Also confusing is the advice to replace the plastic mouthpieces after testing for 10 to 15 times. I don't understand why this is necessary as repeated use of a mouthpiece doesn't seem to affect its accuracy even if more than 10 to 15 times, although I am glad that a lot of extra mouthpieces were included in the package

I used this meter to check my ketone levels. It worked well and I would order again when needed.

This product did not work correctly on arrival it only ever read a reading of 2 regardless of who or no one used it. I could tell my breath vapor was leaking past and creating condensation on the lcd screen from the inside.

Used it for a couple months now. It doesnt always get an accurate reading and you have to blow out from the bottom of diaphram which is hard to control.
