Super Sam and the Battle Against PANS/PANDAS

Dr. Wells is not only an amazing doctor, but she is an outstanding human being. She has shown my son and myself such compassion, kindness and care as she helps us to navigate this extremely difficult condition. This book is wonderful and I only wish I had it to read to my son when he was first diagnosed at 9 years old to help him better understand what was happening in his body. If a child you love has PANS/PANDAS this is a great book to read to them or their siblings, and even the adults and teachers in their life to promote a better understanding of this very complex and misunderstood condition. I love this book, we’ve given it to people who want to know more about PANDAS!

My granddaughter was diagnosed with Pans so it looked like a book that would be good for her and her little sister. All it conveyed to me was that the little sister had no choice but to understand the problem, so that when it seemed that the older sister was being given preferential treatment, the little sister would just have to deal with it. The little sister was sad and jealous. Ya think? I thought the book was terrible. I threw it out.

This is a great book to explain to kids and even some of the adults in our family have read it to get a basic understanding of PANS/PANDAS.

My son has had PANDAS for several years. I thought it was informative and a good tool to use when explaining the condition to younger children.
