I won't go in to technical details as the other reviewers have done that. Nonetheless, I have been using cheapo Office Depot envelopes in which the self seal flaps will not stay on securely. Thus I had a need to constantly scotch tape the seam to make sure the flap will not open due to the non-stickiness of the glue while in transit. After using 500 of those suckers, I decided to search for the ultimate envelope and thus the choosing of this brand and type.I prefer removing the paper strip method to expose the adhesive from the OD envelopes. These envelopes have a fold in which hides the adhesive underneath the lower flap in which forces you to raise the lower flap. It's tough to slide your finger through the lower flap to expose the adhesive. The first few tries, I would tear the lower flap in a few areas out of frustration. However, after getting used to the process, it made sense and I am a pro at it now. All you need to do is raise the lower flap on one end and carefully slide one finger all the way across slow and easy.The brightness of the paper used is very bright. It makes text stand out as when compared to the OD envelopes from my Brother laser printer. Security printing on the inside does a very good job and curious ones cannot make out what's inside. On the top flap, there are a few slits to make sure it doesn't get tampered with. Those slits will tear if someone tries to tamper with a sealed envelope.The best part? The adhesive! Yes, it is strong! It stays sealed. Thus solving my problem of having to scotch tape the flap! Although they are on the high price side, the offset of not having scotch tape the rear is totally worth every penny. The reassurance of the adhesive doing it's job throughout transit is an added bonus!PROS:+ Bright, High quality Paper+ Security Printing+ Tamper evident seam closure (Slits)+ No paper strips to throw away+ Sticky adhesive eliminates the need to scotch tape seam (YES!)CONS:- On the expensive side, but worth it- Irritating to get the lower flap unsealed to expose adhesive. These are the best self sealing envelopes. The glue has a long shelf life, and the security tint is perfect for transmitting documents. I would recommend even though they are not as cheap as others. I ended up taping shut the previous brand that I purchased from another retailer. They did not look very professional!

These envelopes are fabulous! They may be a bit pricey, but are totally worth the extra money. The envelopes are a heavy paper weight and have a secure strip for sealing important papers, signatures, or money. I would definitely order this item again and again!!

These were supposed be window envelopes. They are plain. I can use them, and the box will last for years.

I wanted most of all the self sealing part of the envelope to be east and to be able to hold it's seal. I also wanted a great deal and I found this all with this envelope. It tears off very easy compared to the previous kind and brand I had where it had a stripe you had to pull from the sticky sealant side. That kind always tore while trying to peal strip off leaving me frustrated and always picking at strip just wasting time. This new kind is much easier with great sealing not at all dried up. It seals envelope nicely and it being lite with added security pattern is a win win. Deffenetely the best security envelopes I have had so far for the money.

I had searched for Window envelopes and these came up in results. After comparing prices and reviews, we ordered these...Low and behold, no windows. My fault for not noticing, but I am not sure why they came up in my search. Don't make the same mistake I did. The good news is, the return was easy on Amazon, but we did have to pay return postage of over $8.00.

I love these envelopes. You just push up part of the seal and pull the flap over. Sealed!!!! And, it sticks.

Nice bright white, closes easily and hard to open once sealed - overall good product.
