I normally carry my money in my left front, and my keys and small Swiss army knife in my right front. I recently bought a pocket holster and wanted to use that in my right front pocket... so what to do with the keys and Swiss army knife? I wanted something small enough to be inconspicuous and unintrusive to wear, but large enough to hold my keys. After quite a long session of looking at various offerings, and based on the reviews of the quality of this and its roominess given the size, I decided to give this pouch a try.It seems like it is well made, with lots of compartments and pockets for its size. There is one external pocket with its own flap. The zippered interior is divided into two sub-compartments separated by a felt covered divider, with a pocket on the inside of the front, and a pocket on one side of the felt divider.Even though I have seven house-key-sized keys, three "shoppers club" tags, one truck key with keyless entry FOB, and a leather teardrop tag on the ring, it still fits into the pouch, although it does take some attention to get everything oriented correctly to slide in. If I were going to be taking my keys in and out a lot, I would want a larger pouch so it is less fiddly... or perhaps I should take some of the keys that I seldom use off from this key ring. Or switch to a key chain. Which I may do. I could still fit more things into the other sub-compartment if I so chose, like maybe a Streamlight Microstream (one of my most favorite regulated small LED flashlights).The paracord pulls give it a functional and rather "rustic" look, not sure if I am in love with them, but they may grow on me. But, after all, the name says "utility pouch", not "Giorgio Armani". And heck, I'm pretty sure I could never qualify to be an Armani guy, anyhow. Anyway, the pulls certainly get the job done and don't jingle like metal pulls might do. I might try to shorten them up by about half to make them not so "floppy".The only *real* con is that it is made in Taiwan - I wish there had been an alternative that was U.S. made. The con mentioned above about the lack of an intrinsic belt loop or clip or some kind of fastening mechanism is really just because that is how I wanted to use it; for those using it as an auxiliary pouch on a pack, this would be irrelevant. Oh and to nitpick, the stitching holding the Maxpedition label on the front flap, and the top of the label itself, run downhill which makes it look a little cheaper than if it were parallel with the other stitching and the bottom of the label. But as I said, a nitpick; probably nobody will ever notice that when I am wearing it.I ordered some 3 inch (a.k.a. #3) Blackhawk Speed Clips to fasten it to my belt, and it seems to be pretty much the perfect solution for my needs.I would certainly recommend this to anyone that wants a small utility pouch. It would make a good pouch for a small digital camera or cell phone, with room to hold spare batteries and other small accessories or emergency items.

These little low profile bad boys are great! Perfect for attaching to a Remora, Lunada, Fr-1, or any other E.D.C gear. As always MaxP quality construction is present making it well worth the price (which is not bad at all). The zippers are of high quality (YKK) and have good para cord type pulls that make access quick and easy and keeps things quiet...which means no stares or dirty looks from all that jingling. The capacity is great: The front flip pocket will fit a small flip phone or any thing of similar size...there's a sneaky little slip pocket behind the flip pocket that can be used for a great many purposes...Inside the zippered portion there are "larger" divided pockets with a padded accordion divider...I fit a digital video camera, pill fob, hand sanitizer, and an ipod in them all at once...and again there is a small sneaky slip pocket that will fit many different items like a back up camera battery or ipod shuffle. The really nice thing is all of this fits w/o stretching or bloating the pouch and it maintains a thin low profile and connects snugly to whatever with a pair of 3" tac ties or blackhawk speed clips.

The barnacle is a nice addition to your Maxpedition bag or any other similar type bag. I attached mine to my Maxpedition jumbo via the available Molle straps that you can also get from Amazon.It is made our of the same high quality material as their bags and matches color perfectly (I have a Foliage Green set up).The pouch is small but makes a nice storage unit for small items (lighter, small first aid items, small utility tools, etc.) which saves valuable room in your main bag. I use my bag for hiking, range, edc, "bug out bag" (lol), and I really endorse Maxpedition products. You'll pay a little more but these things are made to last.4/5 stars for me. Well made but a little constrained as far as what you can use it for.

I bought this pouch a couple of months ago and via Blackhawk Speedclips have carried it on a belt much of that time. I had an issue one time where when I saw sitting in my car the Speedclips both somehow came loose and when I opened the door the pouch fell onto the ground. Only had this issue once and I dont know if that's fault of the speed clips or the molle webbing on the pouch itself. I'd say neither, I just wiggled around just right for them to come loose. The pouch itself I'd amazing. It's very durable, I work at a lumber mill stacking lumber all day I've had some pretty hefty boards come down right on top of the pouch with no issues at all. No broken stitches or torn nylon. So much organization in such a compact space. Stays pretty clean at least from the sawdust I'm in everyday. Never had to do more than brush it off with my hand. I've since stopped carrying it on my belt most of the time and attached it to a small molle sling bag and it works great there too. Didn't stop carrying on the belt for any reason regarding issues with the pouch. Just my personal carrying preferences are always changing. I may be carrying it again in a week, who's knows. But I'll give it 8/10. Only reason I'm not rating 10 is the price. While I think it's worth every penny, I can't help but feel much of the price is the Branding. The sling bag I mentioned cost about $5 less and is much bigger and made of 1000D nylon. If this pouch was closer to the $12 mark it'd be a solid 10/10 for me. But that's just picky personal opinion once again. Its light its compact and with the Speedclips hugs tightly to your body with no wiggle. Would highly recommend! Great product Maxpedition.
