When I ordered this light saber I was worried. Because I watched it and it didn't ship for an entire week. However it said it would arrive on a Thursday the following week, and that it did as claimed. After reading the instructions I begun to have hours of fun play with my boys (3 under the age of 5). The each have cheap toy plastic ones, but with this one it makes all saber hits sound and react "realistically" (obviously it's fiction). Item is durable and able to take small and medium hits. perhaps more, but I'm not testing going to test a hard hit on a hard surface. But for play it's more than durable enough. Sounds are great. Power up for the first time put a huge grin on my face. I'd say $100 was a very fair price for the electronics. It reacts to movement and strikes very well. Also has a couple fun features like pressing the button to react to blaster fire, and a feature that causes it to flash like your saber is locked with another. My only complaints would be that pressing the button hurts my finger a little, it's not exactly sharp, but very not round. Also to make the flashing effect you hold the button for 1 second, and change colors you have to hold the button for 2 seconds. Holding for 3 seconds turns the saber off. So it's a little tricky to get the timing just right for what you want. But for having only 1 button, I'm not sure how else you would handle all that functionality. O ya I also found it is super well balanced. It's very bright and really glows a dark space like a "real" one would. All in all, I highly recommend this product for the nerd in me, and the aspiring young jedi in my house! - 30 year old father of 3.

Received the item from Amazon last evening and I charged it over night. However, all excitement was dashed when I tried to power it on this morning. Nothing happened. No light no sound. It works for a min when I plugged the Sabre back into the charger but will stopped working after 1 min.Could be something wrong with the batteryHave tried to remove the battery and bend the connector to get better contact but issue persistIt’s a shame as I really like to use the Sabre for duelling.
