Blaze Returns: An Action Adventure Thriller

A friend recommended Blaze Returns to me and I’m glad I decided to read it. I’m am unapologetic action fan, love tough guy novels and have been a fan of Jack Reacher and Mitch Rapp. I’ve been looking for that level of action in other novels but mostly been disappointed. Now Axel Blaze is my new favourite. The way he goes through the bad guys… he is too good. He’s Robocop/Rambo/Reacher/Rapp, all merged in a fast-paced story. High adrenaline stuff. Can’t wait for more from Bill Runner – a very promising thriller author.

This is one of the best thriller book I've read. It’s well written, the plot is taut and engaging, the action is non-stop from the very first scene. But it’s the storyline that keeps moving forward speedily, with Axel Blaze dealing with threats one after the other.Axel Blaze has similarities to Jack Reacher in his action. He analyzes situations and comes up with a plan, and is then merciless in taking down his opponents. His expertise in combat and logical approach to it makes him an indestructible hero, something that I used to like in Jack Reacher novels.When Blaze punches, he does it to break bones, when he throws a knife, he never misses the target, when he shoots, it’s to kill. As he says before getting into a fight with three bikers, if you draw a knife against multiple adversaries, you have to be ready to stab them until most of them are down. Sounds coldblooded, but logical if you are in the business of taking down killers.Overall, a fantastic action thriller that keeps you on the edge from the first page until the end. Bill Runner is a debut author to watch out for.

Wow! The novel is what I call a page turner. I read good reviews of the novel on Amazon.com and decided to get it the same day it was launched on Kindle, and read it at a single go all day and well into the night. What a thrillfest! The action doesn’t ever slow down. Axel Blaze in his search for the missing Marshal Carter keeps moving from one dangerous situation to another, taking down gangster and assassins with such calm and ease. It becomes clear from the first page that Blaze is an expert in combat. He analyses each situation and has the full strategy in place before he attacks. And then he pounces like a tiger. Every encounter ends within seconds. As the novel description says, “Blaze strikes first. And hard. Takes them out. Fast.” That’s really, really cool. If they make a movie on this, I’ll be the first one to go and watch it.

Top rate thriller!What a thriller. I was pulled in from the first page. The action is relentless, the thrills never stop coming. It has shades of Jack Reacher and Mitch Rapp, but I found it pacier. Bill Runner has created a fantastic character in Axel Blaze. Waiting for the next one in the series!

Having grown up on a diet of Nick Carter, Jason Bourne, James Bond and Jack Reacher, I very much enjoyed reading Axel Blaze’s escapades. Tough, violent, non stop action reminds me of Reacher whereas Axel seems to begin where Reacher stops! The action scenes are very well described and the authors love for weapons and body strikes from his own experience of karate and Krav Maga come through in spades. If action floats your boat, let this rising tide lift you!Bill Runner might very well have a stunner here!

The novel sucked me in from the very first line and I couldn’t leave it until I reached the end. A feeling of threat and violence begins on the first page and carries on non-stop until the last page. It’s one adventure after the other as lone ranger Axel Blaze goes in search of his missing friend. An action-packed western-themed novel. Great read. Bill Runner is here to stay.

I had given up action books but this book got me hooked up again. The action was very engrossing and the writing was fab. Hard to put down once you start reading. A must read for action lovers. Waiting for the next edition of this thriller.

An absolute page turner.This fast-paced thriller is the very definition of a page turner. I bought the novel as I was intrigued by the cover and description. Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. it’s non-stop action and doesn’t give you a breather.Axel Blaze is a one-man army going after the evil guys. The bad guys are really bad, but Blaze finishes them off in style. He does get stuck in some tricky situations but he never stops. There are similarities to the earlier Jack Reacher novels – the later ones have completely lost the plot. So it’s good to see a new tough guy on the horizon. I was disappointed to find out there’s nothing else from the author yet. I hope the next one comes out soon. I can’t wait to find out what happens between Blaze and the absolutely gorgeous Daphne.

Wow, what can I say. This is an absolute page turner, Axel gets into some tough spots and gets out of them, people underestimate him.I loved the way this was told, especially all the action.

A kick butt action hero.There are many support characters who are good, bad, or evil.Axel Blaze was called upon by his ex-US Marshall boss Mark Flynn to investigate a missing Marshall named Carter who was looking for two criminals in the Marshalls Witness Protection Program who have disappeared. The initial scene set the tone of the rest of the story as Blaze calmly savaged two armed thugs who threatened to murder three people in a small bar after murdering one in cold blood. The action escalated when Axel arrived in the town where Carter disappeared, and the bodies soon stacked up like cordwood.Little Butte is an uninhabited peak about a mile north of the Reno Highway. So research and details of the town are pure fiction.The story is fast paced as Axel kick’s butt to learn if Carter is alive and where he might be held. He goes up against the Dawsons. A father and two sons have bought most of the dilapidated town and started building a new town next to it. Axel soon learns the Dawsons make methamphetamine and are involved with a Mexican drug cartel. The story is a no holds barred fun read if you accept it as tongue in cheek.The editing is off by American standards but is written by a Brit and conforms to those rules and idiosyncrasies.Sentence structure is mostly okay.Character development is good enough for the mostly supporting characters and okay for Axel.Details and research are sparse, but this is a fictional town.The plot is fast paced and violet and held my interest throughout.The writing style is fast and choppy, doesn’t waste words, and fits the flavor of the plot.Vigilant Reader Book Reviews.

"Blaze Returns," is probably the most amazing reads that I have ever read. Would definitely make an exceptional movie series. Plenty of action and suspense, that will take you on a heck of a thrill ride. Never a boring or dull moment, but more of a thrilling can't put it down read. Don't know where this author, Bill Runner has been but I am glad that I have found him and is a hugh fan. I will be searching for more of his works, as well as, following him in the future and can't hardly wait for his next installment. "Give Them Hell Blaze."
