It's an exact-fit original part. But for such and expensive item, it should include the REQUIRED O-ring.

Good and sturdy lid that lends to awesome suction power.

I've seen the concept mocked on pool forums: "Please tell me what can go wrong with a lid?" That quote was from the forum administrator. Meanwhile I had massive air intake in the reservoir to the point the pump was losing prime during the low speed session. I tried O-rings. I tried everything else. The lid passed all visual tests. Likewise it was not out of balance.Frankly I thought this $33 investment was a waste, and the item destined for quick return to Amazon. Then to my amazement this new lid not only was remarkably smooth but went a full 1/8 of a turn beyond anything I'd managed via the old lid. And with no exertion. I had forgotten what it was like to turn off the pump without waterworks splashing out of the lid in seemingly random directions. Not only does the pump retain prime during the low speed session but all the way through the night and until summoned again.I ordered O-ring lubricant prior to the lid arriving. Once it showed up days after the lid I went out there to apply it, then asked myself...why bother? Maybe when the O-ring begins to wear out. Right now I can't defeat zero.
