Jill McDonald is the best!
My son is 2.5 and for about one week he was very scared of bugs. Blame it on me, I am too! But whenever he is scared, curious or shows an interest in something- I find a book on the subject for him to enjoy. We were first introduced to Jill McDonald's books with "Music" which quickly became a hit in this household. Since then, we've expanded his library to "Rocks and Minerals" (my personal favorite), "Construction Site," "Cars and Trucks," "Weather" and "Garden Time." Backyard Bugs is no different- it's informative with beautiful illustrations and written well. My son is no longer scared of bugs- thank goodness!

Both my kids love this book!
We have bought a few books from Hello World already. My wife and I typically read a book to our kids every night and after we done reading, they want to know the name of the other books drawn on the last page of the book. Then my son usually says what other book he wants (and my daughter copies him). He wanted Backyard Bugs for a long time. He would tell me that I should "buy on Amazon". I decided to get this book for his birthday and both he and my daughter love the book. My daughter loves bugs and she is playing with this book ever since we got it and they both have asked us to read this book every night since then! All these books are very educational and both my kids are learning a lot. As we are reading the book we would ask them the name of the bug and they would say the name (they remembered all teh bugs after reading the book twice). We definitely will be buying the other books in this collection!!

Really cool art style, nice sized book
Bought for my entomologist neighbor as his wife just had their first baby, plus his wife loves reading. I thought it's a good way to introduce the baby to bugs and spiders in a fun way so that a professor of entomology doesn't end up with a bug phobic kid ;)I'm really happy with the number of pages in the book since so many similarly priced books are only 8-10 pages, this book also has more to read when most others seem to have 1 or 2 words per page. The art style is really pretty and interesting and will hopefully capture their baby's imagination as he grows.

Fantastic
For a 3 year old, the board book was a good choice; easy to handle and reference. He thoroughly enjoyed the pictures and the story. When it came to the butterfly, it clearly pointed out that there are three phases to becoming a butterfly. This was an educational book that told the story in terms that a 3 year old found interesting!!!!!!!!!! 👍

2 Year Old Approved
Send books to my 1 & 2 year old grandsons monthly. My daughter gives me feedback on which books they like and the ones they might not be interested right now. Our 2 1/2 year old grandson loves this book, especially the spiders & worms. He even sits and looks at/reads it by himself.

Child very happy.
I still like her artwork in the book "Whose in the Forest" best, but this is still a nice addition to our toddler library. My son loved the bird book and loves this on too. My only issue is that bugs usually bring to mind insects and arachnids - not worms so the inclusion of a worm into this book was surprising. I would ave included fireflies or rolly-pollies instead,

Interesting presentation of the outdoors.
The illustrations were varied and colorful.
