Good replacement bulbs for my garage
I've installed four of these tubes in two fixtures in my garage so far. A third fixture still has the 110W HO fluorescent tubes in it. Before ordering, I worried about whether the light output of these LEDs would match the existing tubes. Now that I've compared them, I'd say the light output seems virtually the same between the two types. Only the color is slightly different, with the 5000K LEDs being slightly cooler. They were easy enough to install. The ballast removal and rewiring created a bit more work than a simple tube change out, but no big deal. The tubes do sag very slightly in the centers as others have said. I'm not sure it's a problem as they still seem securely held by the tombstones, and it isn't really visible from the floor. I'll update if I get worried about them.I do have two complaints about these tubes, hence the non-five-star rating. First, I needed six tubes, but had to purchase eight due to the packaging. Now I have money tied up in spares that I hope I'll never need. I wish I could have purchased a four pack and a couple of singles.Second, these tubes are not instant-on. There's somewhere between a half and a full second between throwing the switch and the LEDs lighting up. All four installed tubes behave the same, so I don't think it's a defect with an individual tube, just the nature of their design. Since they're in the garage, I think I'll get used to it. If they were in a more frequently-used area, they would probably bug me much more.

Easy way to upgrade lighting
We replaced 50 8-foot HO fluorescent tubes with these LED replacements in our machine shop, and it was completed in two days by one person, including removing the old ballasts. The light difference is striking. It takes a little getting used to, because if you look right at the tubes they are a series of bright dots in lines (due to the our choice of no frosted cover) but the actual working light is great, more like daylight even than the blue-white tubes they replaced. Noticeable difference in heat in the summer months: the shop runs much cooler. Large difference in power consumption. Less weight on the supporting structure of the building (50 of those heavy ballasts were removed), too. Out of 50 tubes only 2 were defective out of the box. Amazon requires a "unit" replacement meaning whatever size carton was ordered, they will send a replacement of that size, not two of the tubes in it. But no problem, they sent a carton of 12, we swapped two of the new ones with the two defective ones, and Amazon paid shipping on both the new ones and the return carton. We probably should have gone directly to the seller for a more efficient swap of just the two lights, in retrospect, but it worked out fine anyway. The defect rate is a little better than what we experienced with buying local cartons of the older tubes, about 4%, so that's ok. You only discover the integrity of a seller if they are presented with a problem to solve, so in a way having a defect up front is a good thing: it tests whether you want to deal again depending on how they handle it. We give them five stars all around.

Fantastic upgrade to conventional bulbs
We're slowly replacing every bulb in our facility with LEDs, talking thousands of fixtures. I choose to standardize on these bulbs from JESLED as the rotating ends make them compatible with any of our lights. They do cost a tiny bit more then the fixed end ones but I don't need to keep track of how many bulbs I need for the different style lights. Cost is far less then a new ballast and two bulbs, plus they are cheaper to run.For performance, brightness wise they are as bright as HO bulbs. I think the lumen output might be a tiny bit less then a (brand new) HO bulb. But the 6000k cool white light in a warehouse environment "feels" brighter. Also I don't think these degrade over time like a traditional florescent.I've installed over 600 of these so far and had maybe two that failed, and a couple more with a few burnt out LEDs. Time will tell if they all eventually degrade or if it's just isolated defects. For the first two years I can say that 99% of them are still burning strong. I think if you're buying them by the hundreds, you'll occasionally get a defective one. They do warranty them for 1 year I think, although I've never bothered to return one, so I can't speak for how effective that is. The store owners have always responded to me quickly via amazon when I had questions though.

Yons of Light
I have a large garage with four fixtures. I decided to start out with a four pack and put one light in each fixture to start. If it wasn't bright enough, I could always add another four pack and end up with two lights in each fixture like they were originally with flourescents. These are a bit long and fit really tight and require slightly bending to get into the sockets but they are built tough unlike a glass bulb. When I flipped the switch I was pleasantly surprised that these are actually brighter and put out more usable light than the 8 originals, so these are a winner and I won't need 4 more. Since you only need half as many it makes it easier to justify the cost.

These bulbs are fantastic!
I have a shop with (12) dual bulb 8 foot HO Fluorescent fixtures in my shop. I have OSB walls and OSB ceiling thus making it naturally dark. I switched out the lights using the LED 8 foot R17D and my shop is brighter than ever before! It took less than 15 minutes to remove the ballasts, rewire and insert the new LED bulbs. I had a question and posted an email and the tech support team responded in less than an hour and it was Christmas Day! Great people to work with and this "V" shaped bulb provides more light than regular "flat" LED products. I used the bulbs with 7200 lumens and 6000K Cool light. I am glad I waited until I found these. At midnight, these lights make it look like daylight. BTW, I was worried about the lumens making the light color blue, but it doesn't, at least not in my shop. Also, my shop in 2010 was featured in Better Homes and Gardens as one of "America's Best Home Shops". I can't say enough, these are great!
