Super Simple Guide to Creating Hawaiian Gardens: For Kama'aina and Malihini

This book was exactly what I was looking for. There are not many books about gardening in Hawaii. It’s harder than one would think. The book is a great resource for me. I would recommend it even to people who don’t live here just for the amount of knowledge contained.

Living in Hawaii, it's hard to find books about native plant gardening. This book is informative and very helpful for gardeners at any level.

I really like this book . It’s very thorough and informational but I feel defeated - I don’t even want to try! Kauai has very difficult soil and I have no patience. On the plus side she does avoid most non indigenous plants but amending the soil that much is questionably a good idea in my humble opinion.

As the title indicates, this book is primarily written for Hawaii residents, both old and new, who are interested in building their gardening knowledge or solving gardening problems. The author is a California certified Master Gardener. The Table of Contents is detailed enough to zero in on a particular topic without being cumbersome.

Love this book-so informative and well written! I appreciate the detailed information given by Barbara Fahs-often times garden authors assume you know much more than you do. So important for everyone to start gardening if you are not already! Take control of your food! From a NW gardener soon to be a Hawaiian gardener.

This book is invaluable if you have a yard in Hawaii! It is full of suggestions, resources and very practical tips. The chicken idea is worth the price of the book! We have been elimating invasive "aliens" and bringing in more Hawaii. We also like the ideas for munching on the garden - beauty and dinner in the same plants!

Really a good book, lots of great instructions and pictures - I am very much enjoying it and will put it to good use
