Better than the Brother brand
I've been using these ink cartridges for a couple of years now. They work great and I have no complaints about them. Save some money and give them a try.

2 Year Review Update- Works for Brother MFC-J285DW
I've purchased ink from this brand about three times in the past two years. The first was in December of 2014, second March 2015, and the third was in September of 2015. I usually purchase these as "add-on items" with other items so that my entire order qualifies for free shipping. This worked for my Brother MFC-J285DW, there was a little ink spill when I installed ink from the second order (from March). Other than that and another minor issue (discussed below) the ink has been working really well. Color seems to be a bit off, but I have my printer set in draft mode (saves a ton of ink, I'd recommend this setting if you're printing stuff that no one needs to see). As a college student I type up all my notes and print the PowerPoint slides for my main biology classes. At the end of every semester I end up with about 200-300 pages worth of printed material (give or take). The ink has lasted me from December of 2014 until September of 2015. In that time span I've went through two semesters and printed about 600-700 pages worth of notes (my notes have lots of pictures). Occasionally my siblings will use the printer, but their usage is about 100 pages most (brings total to about 700-800 pages). Compared with the cost of ink in my old Canon printer ($50 for a full replacement, range of about 300 pages), this printer and ink set has saved me well over $90 (the price that I purchased the printer for).I'd definitely say that this is absolutely worth it if you can get over the cons:-Ink may spill during installation. I experienced an ink spill (they're not to make, a few drops at most) with the second batch of ink that I ordered-Looks like the supplier cheeped out on packaging. I usually purchase two black and 1 of each color ink. The second batch of ink that I purchased the supplier bundled the black inks together, and the color inks together. For me this was a problem because I didn't know if the ink would go bad if it was left exposed to air. Luckily during the third shipment I received individually packaged ink. The packages are still not air tight, there's some air in the packages. Just for my sanity, I'd love to see them packed in air tight packages. I've attached pictures of when they were packaged together and when they were packaged separately.Star Changes:December 2014: 5 StarsMarch 2015: 2 Stars (due to package problems and leakage problems)September 2015: 4 Stars (due to separate packaging)Would've been 5 starts if there was no ink leakage.

Cheap Replacements for OEM Ink Cartridges
I have the Brother MFC-J475DW all in one printer and was looking for replacement ink cartridges since most of them were running out. I was originally looking at the OEM ones but were shocked at how expensive they were. They were around 3-4X the price of what these were for. I figured even if these didn't work well that I wouldn't waste too much money.Packaging:There were 5 ink cartridges that came in this pack. 2 Blacks, 1 Cyan, 1 Magenta, and 1 Yellow as advertised. It came in a box where the 5 inks were individually wrapped in a plastic sealing bag so that it wouldn't leak. The ink cartridges label doesn't look like OEM ones but included the model number of the ink to confirm it is the right one.Installing:Installing the ink was a painless process. My biggest concern with buying ink other than Brother printer brand was the fact that the printer was not going to recognize the ink. However, this thankfully didn't happen. Before installing, make sure to pull on the yellow tab before installation. You will need to pull this in order to get the ink flowing. Once I removed my old ink and put in the new ink, the printer recognized it right away. It asked whether or not I installed the new ink. Once you click yes it will cycle through the ink a little bit to I guess stir it up.Quality of Print:I didn't notice any diminish in quality for the print in any of the colors. One thing I did notice with the black though is that it seems kind of like a lighter black compared to the OEM Brother printer cartridges. It really isn't that noticeable so it doesn't really matter to me. What matters to me is that it prints what I want it to print. For less than 10 bucks, you cannot go wrong with buying this even if it's not the top of the notch quality. These cartridges last for a while especially if you use the black and white print setting. The other colors will go down slowly but all you'll have to do is to change the black cartridge. Good thing there are two. Overall, buying this off brand is a huge money saver and I will do it again. Solid 5 stars.Advice:Be careful when removing old ink cartridges. The printer may show that it is empty and needs replacement but there might be still some left inside. Make sure not to tilt it backwards. I made this mistake and made a little mess next to the printer.

So far so good
Only needed the black cartridge at this time. It was a little hard to put in place but worked fine and the printer recognized it.

Great value
These cartridges may or may not last as long as the Brother cartridges, but it doesn't matter because they cost so much less. Great value and the print quality is good enough for home printing.

Flawed-Defective batch of Color ink cartridges....(UPDATED)
EZ Ink has been a great alternative to get ink for my printer. Sadly the Color ink cartridges I got this time were a flawed-defective batch since it took near 9 print cleans for them to produce any color ink for printing leading to all 3 of them being half-full losing ink I didn't use. Black ink cartridge works fine after the 1st print clean.Hopefully EZ Ink will send another set of color ink cartridges free of charge.________UPDATE: 3-22-2020EZ Ink sent me another set of color ink free of charge & Hopefully there won't be any issues with this new set of color ink when its time to use them when my current color ink that's in the printer runs out. The rating on this review went from 1 star to 4 stars, Great customer service where they responded to my review via buyer/seller messaging on amazon.com & EZ Ink stands behind their products plus this ink is under their 2-year(24-Months) warranty.

Highly Recommend
No problems with installation or use thus far. Some printers have had problems with their printer recognizing the chip; be sure to check your manufacturer's date (usually on the bottom of the printer). If your date is Nov 2014 or earlier, you are probably safe. Mine was Aug 2014 and all is well. Will buy from again as the price is fantastic!!!

The color cartridges seems to work, but my printer ...
The color cartridges seems to work, but my printer refuses to recognize one of the black ones for whatever reasons. Also if you eject and reinsert it too often it gets ink everywhere and is a bit messy. Compared to the original Brother cartridges, this is is actually lighter and less vibrant. The black appears as light grey and the color is a bit faded and lighter as well. It is however significantly cheaper than the Brother cartridges, so I guess I can't complain too much.Edit: I've discovered why black appears as light grey when printing. When I was doing a print quality check, I discovered that the black ink completely does not print, and I guess the resulting grey ink that comes when I try to print something black is a mesh of all the colors which my printer is using as a substitute (?).
