dangerous
Oh dear.I got this for my other half who likes messing with vehicles. When it arrived he was like a small child bouncing about with delight … that was until he opened the box and took a look at it.He refused to use it, he said it is dangerous! When I had my mot done I asked the man who does the annual test for me (he is also a family friend), and he as said that it isn’t strong enough, and is not kite marked or registered. He demonstrated this by jacking a ½ weight (1ton) testing vehicle and it was about 6 inches up from its base level when the jack gave way and collapsed. The main lesson I took from this is to always make sure that the equipment you get is from a known/respected manufacturer and check that it is kite marked (I didn’t know that they still did the kite mark). My other half, the love of my life, the man who took me on regardless of my problems and faults, the man who has care for me during past illnesses and continues to stand by me, care for and nurse me during my life shortening illness – could have been seriously injured or killed if he had used this jack and been under or near the vehicle when the jack collapsed. It may be that this is an odd one and the others are ok, but I can only speak to what I, myself, have experienced; and the one we received was dangerous.

Seems poor quality
Initially this seemed promising being low price and looking of sturdy construction. However either I am missing a piece or its poor quality but the 2 seperate metal bars that make the handle don’t seem to join or screw together so the handle constantly falls to pieces when jacking up.It’s also been stored dry in the shed for 3 months yet has started turning rusty. It’s suprisingly hefty and is difficult to lug around because there’s no case included to keep it all tidy and for transportation. Can’t recommend, it’s showing us unavailable so can’t comment on value either, I’d rather have a basic jack from Halfords: they even include a case.

Sturdy build with some height issues
There are many great features on this floor jack, but there are unfortunately also a few fails - one of which could potentially turn into a real issue:First the positives:- Very good structure build quality with great scratch resistance and it looks and feels good.- It has a very low profile, minimum height of 2.75 in/ 7 cm and can get under most if not all lowered cars, modified cars and classic cars- It's easy to position with the two swivel casters at rear and the wide sturdy fixed wheel at the front- It comes with a safety bar to insert as a mechanical stop when its extended- It can lift up to 2 tonnes, which would cover most passenger vehicles on the market- It's a nice compact size (weight 60.9 lbs/27.6 kg and the dimensions are 63.5cm/24.6" x 35.6cm/14" x 20.3cm/7.6")However:- Most people would likely require more height for serious work. The maximum height is 15 1/2" / 40 cm and it's really not a lot- It takes more than the stated 13 pumps from lowest to heighest and even more so after it's been used a few times. And this is the real issue with this jack; it seems to start lowering itself after some uses. It doesn't seem to leak too badly, but already at receipt, there was a quite strong smell of oil, so it does leak some out.I don't have much experience with other jacks, but although I think this is quite reasonably priced, I think the self-lowering issue is big enough that I would take that into consideration along with the lack of height issue (although that could be fixed with (safely!) inserting bars or wood under the jack before use, but of course that would take away the low profile advantage...

Lacking Pressure
The Powerbuilt Xtra Low Profile Floor Jack didn’t really live up to expectation. It needs to be opened in the garage rather than the house with even the manual being covered in oil residue on arrival. The jack is fairly hefty with a great weight to it but it isn’t too problematic to manoeuvre. It doesn’t instill much confidence though in use which may be down to some leakage not holding enough pressure which meant it didn’t have that stability required so it ended up going straight to the tip – it just wasn’t worth risking.

HEAVY car jack, works well, but doesn’t lift high enough.
A serious car jack, weighing in at just under 60lbs. I have a friend whose hobby is to renovate classic cars and so we took the jack to his workshop to try. Everything was well. easily assembled and the construction is very solid, but, as my friend pointed out, the height that the jack lifts to was, in his opinion too low. Certainly not sufficient to anything much more than change a tyre.

Sturdy and safe
My vehicle ( Ford transit connect van) sits low to the ground making it almost impossible to do an oil change myself. I use these to jack up the front end of my vehicle high I enough for me to get under there. Because my vehicle is so low, I have to drive forward onto two small sections of two by fours I made just for this purpose. This raises the front end up so that these jacks will fit underneath. They’re about half an inch too tall otherwise but once they’re under there and locked in place, they work very well and feel very safe. I was able to do an oil change in about 20 minutes and saved myself all that waiting and over $100 and never really knowing for sure if they actually changed the filter. These things will pay for themselves in no time they are well made and a good price. They’re small and easy to store away when not in use. If I had 2 more, I could lift the entire vehicle off the ground safely and easily. Now that I have them, I’ll be safely changing oil and doing other repairs on all my vehicles .

Excellent Product
Worked like charm on Kia Forte 5SX, which has a low ground clearance, just like the car on manufacturer's picture. The jack is heavy and very well made.
