GretschG5222 Electromatic Double Jet - Aged Natural

After 1 year of owning it, I’m very pleased with my purchase. The guitar looks beautiful and it shows good quality woodwork seen on guitars of much higher price range. It came professionally setup, ready to play out of the box. Action was pretty low and I had buzzing on the 6E string, I had to fix it by sanding down the 1st fret, no big deal. The fretboard came a little dry and I also oiled it. It holds tune pretty good, I haven’t touched the tuners much but upgrading to locking tuners would make restringing easier. Potentiometers work ok but not the best response. Obviously it is there where cost is cut to hit the low target price. To play at home, pots will do the work but for professional gigs upgrading pots is a must. Pickups produce great tone, classic AC/DC Gretsch sound. Jazz and funk also sounds awesome specially if you experiment with different string gauges. If you like shredding the high octave, you will love the high tones on this guitar.It has neck dive just like an SG, something I didn’t notice until I played standing up which unbelievably I didn’t do for a long time, but you can figure out ways to fix it easily relocating the strap pin. Btw strap pins are locked screwing on which is great but tend to get unscrewed. I robbed a little bit of soap on the thread and it worked but I still check. It would break my heart to get it damaged by the strap coming off.I think this guitar is a great value even with the minor upgrades that I would like but off course with those upgrades the price would be 3 times higher. Also there are cheaper guitars out there but Gretsch Quality and AC/DC tones for that price is what sets this guitar apart. Every good Rock n Roll band should have one.

Terrible shipping prep. And luckily nothing harmed. Non existent set up and will have to be done. String quality pretty bad. Get set for some work to bring this beauty to life. It really is a great looking guitar but this was a gamble I would not take again. Other sites sell with at least some prep and set up.

1st off, took off the pick guard, 4 months shredding on this Gretsch from jazz (neck pickup) to brutal death metal (bridge pickup), this guitar sounds sick. Clean tones, distorted af, any style sounds great. “Crafted” in China, the quality build of this guitar is A+ and is hands down one of the best I have ever owned. Thank you Malcolm Young for inspiring me to get this guitar.

This is a well crafted guitar, was shipped and delivered in the time specified. I really like the feel of it when playing and, although I’m using a practice amp, it sounds really good. Only mods I’ve done this far is adding strap locks. Good guitar for the money
