works fine and good price
Worked well enough. I used this to install on my mid 2010 MacBook Pro 13". It was missing two mounting holes to secure it down but through my evaluation, there was enough of an anchor to keep it in place without worry. Oh well, works fine and good price.

Well constructed aluminum drive caddy, fits Alienware M14X
This is a well constructed drive caddy and it fit my Alienware M14X (R1) (using the bracket and screws taken off the original optical drive) without problems. The caddy is aluminum construction for good heat transfer and the seller included useful items such as the plastic spacer (to keep the drive secure) and a handy little screw driver that also fit the case and part screws for my laptop.Be aware there's no room in this caddy for jumpering your drive (for SATA I controllers) with normal sized jumpers, though custom holes could probably be cut into the caddy if needed. Also note that while this caddy comes with two sort of "built in" screws for securing your HD/SSD drive to the caddy, it's basically like buying a bare DVD drive: You'll need to already have the mounting brackets and screws needed to mount an optical drive that are specific for your notebook computer. (Which you should already have if you are removing an existing optical drive -- just make sure to take them off the old drive.)

only one screw hole to mount in MacBook Pro mid 2012 13 inch
It works in MacBook Pro 13inch mid 2012 but there are no holes to screw it in Mac. I secured it with only one screw and SuperDrive had three. It does work with original hdd

Nice product also when considering the price
Nice product also when considering the price! Cons: only 1 screw can be attached to my macbook pro 13 mid 2010. Neverthless, it didn't affect the performance of the attached shdd.

Didn't work
This didn't work for me on a 13" MacBook Pro. Any time I tried to copy anything onto the second drive I got error code 50.I bought OWC caddy all is good now. Spend the money buy the OWC caddy and save your self a lot of trouble shooting time.

Awesome product. Very happy.
What an awesome product. Quick and easy installation. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because on the side where you would insert a disk in, there are two screws that come out to uninstall the disk drive but aren't needed to install the caddy. I suppose there's a reason for that, but I like all the hardware secured as much as possible. Didn't seem to be a problem without though.

Works for NP700Z5C-X01UB.
I was apprehensive at first, but it worked fine in my Samsung NP700Z5C-X01UB. Great value compared to some who are asking 4x as much. Just remember to take off all the brackets off the old optical drive and install them on the caddy to make everything seamless. System is now blazing fast with SSD . No clearance issues, no mods needed.I used Farstone driveclone 11(free version) to clone hdd prior to installing ssd. I then removed the old hdd(1TB/8gb ssd samsung spinpoint) and installed SSD in it's place. System recognized drive and booted up fine.EDIT: I did notice a little problem some may have if you put the SSD in the caddy and try to boot from there. I can't get the BIOS to see either SSD or HDD in the caddy prior to booting up, but both boot normally from SATA slot 1. Both drives also show up in Win7 after starting up in the caddy. Weird, but the drive still functions normally.I will update if problems arise.Pic shows the OEM optical drive compared to caddy with my SSD

Works almost perfect
It fits in my 2011 MacBook Pro but there was a little free space left. And since it just has space for one screw (instead of the three) to attach to the motherboard it wobbles a little bit. I just put a small plastic piece in the empty space and it stabilized it perfectly
