I saw these on Amazon and thought they were really cool. It arrived quickly. Here are my observations. It's a little smaller than I expected it to be, and it IS made of plastic. I knew it would be, because I had read other reviews of it. This isn't really a problem, except that it's really light. I can be hard to get it to stay where you want it because the weight of the cord off the edge of the table can tend to pull the whole lamp rearward. I may mount it on a heavier base (wood or metal) to compensate for this. I'd seen in reviews where some people had problems putting it together. I didn't have any issues and it took maybe 1 minute. I just pushed the angled "pipe" into the rocket and snapped the base on the bottom, then installed the four flickering bulbs. Easy peasy.The main bulb is a little different than was pictured in the ad, but it's still neat. Also, they not only give you the four flickering bulbs (the "rocket fire"), but also include an EXTRA four replacement bulbs. So in total, you get NINE bulbs with this lamp (the main bulb plus 8 flicker bulbs). Lastly, the color is a little more gold than in the pictures on the ad, but it's still cool. It's definitely a conversation piece and gets lots of attention. No one knows it's actually light plastic unless they touch it (for those who want REAL metal, they do sell versions of this lamp made from actual iron pipe, but they are around $200!)Overall I am very happy with this. A cool addition to my office.

This is really a pretty item and sheds a lot of light. I didn’t realize that this was plastic until it arrived. Because of this it is very lightweight and can easily slip off the table when turning on the lamp from the switch on the cord.Assembling was a slight challenge. I could not figure out how to route the cord through the main support (it has to be pulled apart)The cord is crimped to the wires leading to the lamps and the copper wires were dangerously exposed! I’m pretty handy and I corrected this by recrimping the wires.My plans are to replace all the plastic parts with metal, keeping the electric parts. I have about 50% of the parts ready to install and when the other parts come in, my upgrade investment will be $24.Again, I like this lamp, just wish it was constructed of metal.

Whoever thought anything, steampunk should be plastic hasn’t got a clue. The only saving grace is the lightbulbs, which I will keep out of sheer disappointment, but this is an abysmal failure, and may be the worst letdown Amazon has given me in years…. This gets 2 Thumbs down, 👎 👎

It is made out of plastic, painted. It shows in the photos its a darker color, it came basically in a bright gold color. The metal pipes slide in together and you have to put them into place yourself but if you were to hold it upside down it will fall apart, fit is not very tight. It looks cool at night. I assumed this was real metal pipe. Apparently ebay sells the real metal ones and this is a generic remake. I wish i wouldve known because i wouldve spent the extra ten bucks for that one, the quality is night and day.

These are kinda cute but unfortunately they were put together wrong so we were unable to finish assembly. I’m going to try and use them as hanging lanterns instead of table top. They are cute for sure, just wish more care was put into the manufacturing.

Lamp is completely plastic.

The idea of this lamp is fun but it’s not what we expected. We had to ship it back as it arrived with a broken part. The return was easy.

Looks exactly like the picture however, I was a little disappointed that it’s made of cheap plastic and not metal. My fault tho bec I obviously didn’t read the description. Still looks great tho
