These are well made. The amount of tension on the holding mechanism is difficult to overcome when you are putting the cords through them initially but, once through, that which makes them difficult to pass the cord through is the very thing that will prevent them from slipping. I note that some cords are held better than others (cotton, not so well) but I am very happy with this purchase and use these on all my clothing with cords (sweat pants, gym shorts, etc). This particular item is only for round cords - the ties on my scrubs are too flat/wide to fit.

I used this for a pair of lightweight sneakers and be aware that the spring beneath the button is difficult to compress and hold flat enough to allow you to force the shoelace through both slots. Wish it was half the price for half as many cord locks and I also wish the holes were larger but it works. I hope you have a lot of shoes to use all of these.

These are supposed to hold the strings on draw string clothing. I baught them for that ability as well as they would keep the ends of the draw stings from disappearing into the garment if one was pulled on too hard. That is the only thing it can do. Don't trust it to stay where you put it bc it has zero grip resistance.

What an awesome little gadget we use it for the sweatpants ties so convenient for kids!
