Blood: Franz Ferdinand

A long time ago my teacher was playing "The Fallen" during class. Lo and behold, Franz Ferdinand became my favorite band over night!!! I was literally up until midnight just watching they're videos and watching interviews. They're a fun and artsy group. Alex is quite a babe... Blood ,however, is far different then any of their other albums. There are mixing of their old songs put to a dance beat. If you're thinking about being a Franz Freak then I would start by listening to "You Could Have It So Much Better", "Tonight", or "Franz Ferdinand".

I am familiar with the original versions of these songs and so I keep wanting the songs on "Blood" to break out into something with a catchy beat. But, it never really happens. The best part of Franz Ferdinand's music is the catchy beat, and so this album is quite a departure. However, this album can be good if you want to totally chill out.

I don't know much about Franz Ferdinand, but I like what I've heard in the past. This CD, while I wouldn't give its spot on the shelf to another CD, isn't as clean or as . . . interesting sounding, for a lack of a better word. The songs seem to run altogether. No song really stands out over the others or catches my attention. The CD's nice, but not what I would recommend for someone looking to purchase their first Franz Ferdinand CD.

Interesting...works out cheaper to buy the songs individually compared to buying the album for $9.99...strange, eh? Is amazon charging too much for this or is FF not putting out enough songs on this release?

This album (or add-on, as described) is a departure from the Franz Ferdinand we all came to love. After listening to the actual album ("Tonight"), I set out to Best Buy to purchase the CD (had to spend a gift card I received). Unfortunately, I did not double check the album title before setting out, as I assumed any FF CD I did not own would be a welcomed addition.I was wrong. This disc is a departure from the norm. It's a mash of cafe electronica and club lyrics (repeat a few words... over and over again). I am a fan of Electronica, but could not stand this album. Instead of purchasing this album, just buy a 2nd copy of  Tonight:Franz Ferdinand  for your collection.

This cd is incredibly disappointing, boring and repetitive. I like many of their songs, but not a single track on this cd

"Blood" wartet mit einer Variation des Covers der dritten CD "Tonight" auf und erschien im selben Jahr(2009). Mehr Hinweise gibt es aber nicht auf eine Verbindung zwischen den beiden Werken. Liest man sich die Tracklist durch,vermutet man zunächst lauter neue Stücke,denn kein einziger Titel findet sich auf einer der anderen CDs. Bei näherer Betrachtung(und näherem Hinhören) ist aber nur ein Track der 9 Songs mit einer Laufzeit von ca 39 Minuten wirklich neu,die anderen sind Remixe,die Songs der CD "Tonight" im neuen Gewand zeigen. Da wird der Song "Katherine Kiss Me" zu "Katherine Hit Me",oder hinter dem Track "Feeling Kind of Anxious" verbirgt sich ein Remix von "Ulysses". Klang das Hauptwerk schon deutlich weniger gitarrenlastig,dafür keyboardorientierter und tanzbarer als die vorangegangenen CDs,so wird dieser Trend hier auf die Spitze getrieben. Ein Aufkleber auf der verschweißten CD wirbt mit "FF in Dub",aber es befindet sich mit "Feel The Envy" nur ein einziges Dubstück auf der Platte. Viel öfter verlieren sie sich in technischen Spielereien,tanzbaren Rythmen oder klingen wie die Gorillaz. Dieser Vergleich ist gar nicht so schlecht,denn die klingen auch vielseitig immer anders und vermitteln eine ganz merkwürdige Stimmung,die auch diese Scheibe vermittelt. Manchmal finde ich es schade um die straighten Gitarrenknaller der ersten Werke,aber obwohl der Ansatz hier ein völlig anderer ist,ist die Platte nicht schlecht. Zwar gibt es ein bis zwei Instrumentalremixe,übertrieben wird es aber nicht. So bekommt man tatsächlich ein fast vollwertiges Franz Ferdinand-Album-nur eben eins,was ein bißchen anders ist.

Semplicemente questo album e il CD extra di tonight presenta la versione di dell' album con una traccia extra. Ovviamente acquistato per collezione ma del tutto inutile.

Ici je ne juge pas le groupe ni l'album par cette simple étoile.J'ai la version double CD (Tonight/Blood) et l'ensemble est excellent. Ils explorent tous les horizons, groupe superbe et le dernier album est une perle aussi (Right Words....). Je vais continuer à suivre ce groupe pdt qqs temps encore.Cette étoile juge surtout l’édition vinyle de Blood... Baclée ou passée par un mauvais pressage...J'ai reçu un premier vinyle et au moins 4 morceaux sur les 6 premiers sautaient. J'ai d'abord demandé un échange car je tenais à avoir cet album en vinyle.J'ai ensuite reçu un 2nde vinyle, 2 morceaux de la face A sautent encore (Be Afraid tourne encore en boucle et The Vaguest of Felling saute à plusieurs reprises).En résumé je n'ai plus confiance en cette édition vinyle, défaut de pressage ou manque de bol de tomber sur 2 défectueux...J'attend maintenant le remboursement demandé.Platine vinyle ok avec mes autres vinyles récent comme Beggar Banquet commandé sur Amazon ou des ancien XTC trouvé aux puces.Bref à vous de voir.
