I don't know if it was intentional, but I got 2 drive caddies in my order for the price of one. They are plastic and snap neatly on a standard hard drive. Plastic pins fit into screw holes so no screws required.I do not have a Dell, but a custom system with a discontinued Rosewill case. The drive bay is wide and nonstandard, and requires sliding drive brackets that I absolutely could not find anywhere on the internet.I have Prime and this item is Fulfilled by Amazon, so I tried this and got lucky. I shoved the caddy into the case, it fit really tight and stayed. Works for me!

Dell wanted to charge me $20.99 on this plastic caddy, so that I could install a 2nd backup hard drive to my newly purchased DELL computer. (I purchased the new hard drive on sale at Best Buy.) Every computer I have ever owned allowed for a 2nd hard drive to be screwed into the tower easily, EXCEPT this one. This part works perfectly in the Dell Optiplex 3010 and substitutes for part number KK4N0 (which is what they said I needed to buy).The new computer has been working fine, except for a glitch with the loose connector on the power supply. They sent 2 power cables before sending a new power supply. For all the hassle though, they could not send this plastic part for me to install a commonly added backup hard drive to my new computer.Note- I did need to buy separately the 90 degree SATA cable to add this hard drive to the system. (Also bought at Amazon.) Great service on that too!Anyway, problem solved! This part also arrived more than a week before the estimated delivery time. Very FAST service and well packaged. First thing... This is a good value vs. the price from others -- especially if you try to buy directly from Dell. The quality is pretty good. The plastic feels a little bit less expensive than I would've expected from Dell OEM, but it is very serviceable. This fit in a Dell Optiplex 9010 midtower, but NOT perfectly. It was a little bit snug and needed coaxing to lock into place. Overall, I would buy this again for something like a hobby computer setup or non-corporate box. Product arrived promptly and in good condition.

The most relevant thing to say to most people about this caddy is that it works with many other Dell desktop computers including OptiPlex and my Precision workstation.Before my (refurbished) Precision workstation T5610 arrived, I called Dell to make sure I had everything I needed to replace one of the installed hard drives with 2 SSDs. They told me I'd need to get two of these caddies to install them. Well they were wrong. The caddy was already in the machine. I just needed a standard 3.5" to 2.5" adapter to place the two SSDs in one of the existing caddies..As it turns out (at $6 apiece - used, from an Amazon seller), I'm keeping the caddies so I can swap other hard drives into the system easier. I just leave the drives in the caddies and when I want to put another drive in, I just have to pull the SATA cable and power cable off the installed drive, slide the new caddy in, and reconnect the cables. The (completely) tool-free case of the Precision makes this process a 20 second operation. I don't do this often. But when I want to ghost my RAIDed SSD system drive to a hard drive, it's faster to change the HD out and take advantage of SATA speeds than it is to swap the drive in my external enclosure and put up with USB speeds.

This replacement "blue Dell hard drive caddy" is an excellent fit for the Dell Dimension series using the caddy-mount. Without the hard-drive caddy it is impossible to mount the hard-disk. On the Dimension systems, Dell used this specialized caddy to mount the drives. Other Dell systems use the rail-type mounts. I ordered this hard-drive caddy thru Amazon and received immediate shipment - caddy fit perfectly and I'm up and running in no time. Excellent service.

Very cheaply made and chincy. Although it was not expensive, mass produced items are getting more cheaply made every year.

Once again other product that simply does what it is supposed to, feels a little filmsy but it just has to hold a drive in a static position, so engineered perfectly for low cost while achieving the desired performance.

At 1 cent for the item, I should have bought two, butthe shipping cost brought up the price.I wanted to put in a second hard drive in a refurbishedDell Tower, but it was missing the caddy in thesecond slot. I ordered the caddy via the internet and I received the caddy promptly and it fitperfectly into the slot with the new drive.Great price, perfect fit.Steve Jahn
