The Fluidmaster 8102 blue detergent cartridges are working as well or better for my situtation
I have been using the Fluidmaster Flush 'n Sparkle Cleaning system for about four years to help control black mold and mildew that tends to grow under the rim and in the bowl. The chlorine bleach cartridges have definitely helped control the excessive mold and mildew buildup but I still needed to manually clean the bowl every week or two to keep the problem under control. I recently decided to try out the blue cartridges to see how well they worked and see if there was any difference. To my surprise it seems as though the blue detergent cartridges are doing a better job at controlling the mildew under the rim of my toilet than the white chlorine cartridges were. My water supply tends to be heavy in minerals (particularly calcium) and it is treated strongly with chlorine/chloramine. It seems both the white and blue cartridge work well but their effectiveness might depend on how chlorinated your water supply already is and what type of growth or deposits you are getting in your toilet bowl. Conclusion: I recommend that users of the Fluidmaster system test both types or try alternating both types of cleaning cartridges and see which works best for your particular situation. As a plus the blue detergent cartridges are less expensive but unfortunately they do need to be replaced more often than the bleach ones which for me last up to four months. I would also suggest installing a fill valve with a system to control the flow of wasted excess water from overfilling the bowl. I am using the HydroClean HC660 fill valve with a built in water bowl overflow control but Fluidmaster also sells a good system that can be added on to an existing fill valve and adapted with an adjustable pinch roller with pressure clamps that slide on tubing between the fill valve and the Flush and Sparkle system (or use the complete kit, Fluidmaster 400ARHR High Performance Toilet Fill Valve). These help control how much water flows through the cartridge cleaning system so that your cleaner and water mixture doesn't just flow down the drain along with excess wasted water.

Not working as stated
I like the fact that its not just sitting at the bottom of the tank eating away at all the components. BUT, they only last 3-5 weeks when all info says and all product info states 3-4 months. I think the manufacturer needs to send about five of these 2 packs to replace the six 2 packs I've paid out good money for. The first one I installed lasted 2 weeks and the bowl was solid blue so that you couldn't see through the water, since that first one the water seems to be just a light blue, but still only last 3-5 weeks.

They don't work
I agree with other users that this product is a joke. I bought 3 two packs because this was the option that came up on Amazon. I used the bleach ones before and was happy. They could make it a little more clear what you are buying. I searched specifically for the bleach refills and found them. The pictures for both products use blue arrows to illustrate the water flow. Since I opened the first pack, I'm already using the second refill. It's been less than a month! REALLY blue water at first, then sometimes, the I checked the refill and it's empty. I'm still within the return period, but for $13 it's not worth the bother. I'm old and don't get around too well. I love the whole concept. The bleach refills have done a great job. The blue ones are a waste of money. Isn't the maker and the vendor aware that this an issue?

Defective batch, replacements are on their way.
We have been using the Fluidmaster 8202P8 Flush 'n Sparkle Bio Balance Septic Refills for over a year in 3 bathrooms. We have averaged 2 months per refill. Recently, we switched to the Fluidmaster 8102 Flush 'n Sparkle Cleaning Refills because of their lower price. Unfortunately, all of our experiences with the model #8102 (blue cartridge) have been unsatisfactory. Out of four cartridges, none have lasted over a week. The cartridges turn the water to an extreme bluish color for the first two days. After that, the bluish color rapidly dissipated to a clear color in about a week's time. We have experienced similar duration times in three separate bathrooms. Only two people live in our newly constructed house. I have attempted to contact Fluidmaster's customer service at (800) 631-2011 multiple times. Unfortunately, every call went to voicemail because of extremely high call volumes. I left a voicemail as directed. However, Fluidmaster never called as promised. UPDATE: I finally spoke to customer service. They indicated that I may have received a bad batch of cartridges. Customer service was apologetic and professional. They are sending me replacement cartridges to correct the problem. This was my first bad experience with the cartridge duration time. As stated prior, I have been averaging over a two month duration time. During that time, the bowl remains reasonably clean. Every other week, I do make a few passes with the brush to remove a slight buildup on the bowl. No scrubbing is needed. The buildup comes off upon contact.

A matter of opinion
I think it's a matter of opinion and I do like the Fluidmaster flush system the best out of three different brands however I've tried the blue and the chlorine refills in the Fluidmaster and I like the clear chlorine cleaner better than the blue . They both keep the toilet bowl clean however the blue one starts out with a really dark blue and after about a month the blue gets very faint yet I admit the the cleaning power remains the same . The other thing is that in the beginning when the blue is new and dark colored it leaves noticeable blue spots aound the sides of the bowl where the water comes in.

Dissapointed. These do not work like the old ones.
This is going to be a long review. First off, let me say i have been using this product for years. I actually stockpiled several refills years ago when my local hardware store decided to stop selling them. I relied on these very heavily because my water is very hard and it helped keep my bowl clean between manual cleanings so I don't need to spend as much time cleaning calcified deposits out of the bowl. I really liked them, even though they were expensive and never got the amount of time out of a cartridge that i hoped. This year i used up the last of my stockpiled cartridges and ordered these (same model number). Immediately i could tell a difference. Previously, when i first installed a cartridge, the water would be so blue it would be almost opaque. The cleaning action was good too. When i installed this new one, the blue dye was faint, almost at the level of 4 weeks use on the old ones. The blue dye is cosmetic, so i figured there was a formula change and waited to see how well it worked. After only a month there was very little color left, and it definitely wasn't doing the cleaning job well (was back to alot of manual labor to clean the bowel). I contacted the company. They said there was no change in the product formula, and sent me two replacement cartridges and a prepaid box to return the one unused cartridge from the box that I had a bad experience with. When I tried to remove the new cartridge from the dispenser (no longer any blue color and not working for cleaning) i found the dispenser was full of thick gooey blue sludge which was not dissolving easily. I removed the dispenser and rinsed it clean in the kitchen sink (took a long time). The new cartridge that the company sent me was better, but also CLEARLY different. The blue tint was again not anywhere near as dark as the older ones that i ran out of, but it was much better than the last one. So clearly, despite what the company says, the formulation HAS changed. This new one was helping to clean, unlike the last one. Today the blue dye was almost gone again, so i went to replace the cartridge. I pulled it out and found that it wasn't empty, and again the dispenser was full of blue sludge (but not as bad as the last cartridge). Removing it and re-inserting it seems to have displaced the sludge enough that the cleaner is coming out with strong color again. I'm going to try this trick for the next few weeks when the dye fades again. It seems pretty clear that the formulation of this has changed, and the stuff turns into blue sludge (at least in hard water). I'm not sure what I'm going to do, because, as i said, I really rely on these things. Maybe I'll try the bleach cartridges instead.

Fluidmaster Flush 'n Sparkle Blue RefillsโEffective and Reliable
This cleaning system does exactly what it is designed to do: it works. The refills are easy to install and provide a consistent, automatic clean with every flush, helping to keep the toilet bowl looking fresh with minimal effort. The blue formula is effective at tackling stains and maintaining a clean appearance between deeper scrubbings. Because the cleaning solution is dispensed directly into the overflow tube and not sitting in the tank, it helps protect the internal tank components from damage. Itโs a straightforward, practical solution for anyone looking to simplify their bathroom maintenance routine. Bottom Line: A dependable and functional refill pack that delivers consistent results. It is a simple, no-fuss way to ensure your toilet stays clean and clear without the need for constant manual attention.

DOSN'T LIVE UP TO THE CLAIMS.
Purchased this from Amazon US as they are not available in Australia even tho Fluidmaster toilet cistern spares are,I spoke with Fluidmaster here in Australia told him i had a Coroma float in my cistern and he told me how to make it work for the Fluidmaster device. It works as is described in the brochure/ add but the colour/cleaner cartridge seems to clog up and doesn't allow the product to dispense. Searching through my shed i found a Fluidmaster valve and float assembly purchased as a replacement along time back but never got around to using it, I will install this in my cistern although the operation appears to be the same hookup as the Coroma float, If it works I will modify this review to reflect same.

Great but a bit expensive.
Love these but a bit expensive for just 2 refills.

this product does not last the time advertised
Save your money complete scam, false package advertisement. I am not sure why it's gotten so many positive reviews, but these cartridges barely give you a month. If you are okay with that, then it's fine, it keeps the toilet fresh and clean, but it should say three weeks with regular usage

Keeps Toilet bowl Clean
Have purchased the clear refills in the past. First time purchasing the blue tinted refill. The price offered from this supplier was more economical than the clear. Keeps the bowl clean and free of stains. Note these are refills only and require the fluidmaster toilet bowl cleaning system.
