Yes, the Extreme Duty Balls can be used for hitting - most often the 7 ounce and 14 ounce are the weights that are used for hitting.

Yes, check out the thearmfarm.com. Specifically uses these balls. That's why I am ordering them. My son is a college pitcher.

Q: Could this be good for basketball players for dribbling and developing arm strength?

They would help with overall arm and shoulder strength through repeated use in a workout. They do not bounce so they would not be able to be used for dribbling practice. They are the size of a baseball. The largest and heaviest ball is the size of a softball. Hope this helps you.
