The Deming Management Method Paperback – November 1, 1988

Excellelent reading. If only the right people would read what this Mr. Deming is willing to share. I keep buying these because I keep giving them to others to read. It all makes perspective important to success. Fantastic Thinker. Deming identifies the problem areas in the workplace, his words remove yhe fog of autority and defines accountability and responsibillity of those who control the quality through effective application of logic and personal drive. Again, Excellentinformation that makes understanding managements position seperated from the influences affecting operational objectives.Get it and read itwithout bias,learn how to identify those that think things out and those that are winging it from day to day. Management AND labor. Mary Walton makes reading a pleasure.

I have little respect for any business professor today since they cannot see the difference between the short and long term impact of algorithms measuring quality, pricing, and customer service. Greed has superseded rationale management ...especially those idiots that moved from CFO to CEO etc. Deming could see the forest through the trees and Six Sigma has no soul and it bites most manufacturers rather than helps.... and yes I am coming at you with a certitude of watching Zenith audio - video and Munsingwear undergarments and Hathaway shirts (the best value of the white shirt era) generally disappear; Motorola stumble, Roger Smith destroy GM (and Robert Lutz barely succeed because of an unbridled ego and bias..not unlike BP's Tony Hayward and the infamous Texans like the Koch Brothers ).

This book was an interesting read and gave many good examples and testimonies from companies applying Deming's 14 points. I think this should be required reading for CEOs and below in the management positions. If the reader is interested in quality, process improvements, and lean methods you would enjoy this book.

The guy who this book is written about is absolutely brilliant. And a Great American innovator. Edwards Deming taught the Japanese how to increase the quality of their cars and become automotive manufacturing leaders in the world. Too bad American car makers at the time were more interested in tailfins, planned obsolescence and short-term profits. we got behind and are still behind.

Mr. Deming describes what might be called "common sense" management. The book should be required reading for every student in college and for every person in a position of leadership. Japanese industry followed Mr. Deming's advice and produced a long string of successes.

Gave good examples, but little practical information of the methodology.

Mary Waton does the impossible. She tells you about the life of the great Business Guru the late W.Edward Deming. The first part of the book is a short biography of the great man. Then she goes into his 14 points in detail. Another chapter is on Deming's ways to get improvement in any business.And the following chapter shows the many companies that the Deming method and philosopy help in TQM.I would recommed these method for any business, small or large.You can tell the companies that use these methods ....there services and products shine with quality and more

Es un excelente libro, es muy útil para aquellos a los que nos interesa saber más de recursos humanos. También es bueno para saber de EUA y las estrategias de Deming. Excelente trabajo por parte de Mary Walton.

Illustrated with case studies, highlighting the challenges of adopting Deming’s Management Method. Years later, Deming feels just as relevant, perhaps more so!

Nice resume of what Deming was preaching. Not so much in depth, but a good all round picture.
