Q: Does this have a strong smell? And does the small fade over time?

Compared to oil based paints, it is very mild. It is a natural oil, edible in fact. We oiled our antique heart pine floors with it, and mixed a little natural turpintine (comes from pine trees), in the first coat to make it soak into the old dry wood better., and to me, smells great. In sort time there is no smell at all. I also sometimes mix a little stain with it to tint a little to darken, as most wood do over time.

Q: Have any chemicals been added to this oil?

The boiled linseed oil is Linseed oil, cobalt manganese salt {Linseed oil, manganese and cobalt driers} between 80.0 -100.0 %.

Q: Can I put it on my Vegetable garden bed before I assemble it?

I know people who use this on outdoor furniture, and it holds up very well to the weather.. however, I use this on firearm refinishing and plaques. I think you would be better off contacting a landscaping supply / garden center to see if they know for sure.

Q: How many sq feet does a gallon cover?

An entire first floor. I used it for my living room, dining room,two bedrooms and kitchen.
