Wireless and loaded full of tools
I bought this to use on the multiple vehicles I own. It is wireless, rechargeable and comes with a host of robust services for the needs of multiple modern vehicles gas and diesel. The unit comes in a nice durable case with cut out foam that keeps everything organized and safe from breaking. The case includes the handheld unit, the wireless transmitter, a connection cable for the transmitter to the obd port and charging cables. The unit is ruggedness with a thick blue rubber case that will keep it from breaking when you drop it. It’s surface is also easy to clean.Setup was simple, select your country log onto your WiFi and your ready to perform updates and download service modules to the unit. I charged the unit fully after setup which only took about an hour. The unit also has a built in set of instructions that is easily pulled up from a button on the front of the handheld. The unit has a color touchscreen that is very responsive. The handheld is also driven by the android operating system, with an ample processor to keep things moving with ease.I plugged it into my 2013 F-150. The connection was smooth and quick. I selected the automatic vin feature. It found the vehicle quickly and displayed the description of the vehicle make, model, year, vin and engine size.I was able to perform a quick scan of the truck and found a trouble code I knew was there from a recent repair. When I selected the trouble code it gave me information of the ignition cycle and km’s of the vehicle when the issue occurred. I then changed the settings to miles in the setup menu.I searched through the systems and found that you could select each system individually instead of automatically. I entered the body control module and was able to perform several live tests such as turning lights on and off remotely and even the dash lights and warning signals. What impressed me the most is that I was walking all around my driveway performing several tests from 10 feet away from the vehicle wirelessly with absolutely 0 connection issues or slow feeds.I then used the unit on my 2012 Nissan Altima. The unit performed just as quick as with the other vehicle. I have owned this vehicle for several years and have only had to perform basic regular maintenance on it. I ran a full scan and found an old trouble code from before I owned it stored in the freeze frame. Pretty cool.I performed several other function tests as I walked around in the driveway around the car and even learned that I had a license plate light burnt out as I was able to test each light set individually. I checked other systems such as the TPMS which provided a wealth of information.I will continue to use the unit on my vehicles regularly as some are older than others but have the obd ports. This tool is far more than I expected and will be a tool that I continue to use on a regular basis.I have other scan tools that are great but this one adds features I like of multiple units into one which is always helpful. It is wireless, rechargeable, easy to update, has a slew of features, and works on numerous models of vehicles. You should definitely look into getting one of these for your garage.

This code reader has many features and is easy to use.Having a bi-directional code reader allows you to activate fans, relays, lights and pumps to perform tests on specific items. It’s cordless, so you can bleed brakes by yourself.Key fob programming and many more features that will allow you to perform many tests and service repairs. Versatile product and good support = good value
This offering from XTOOL provides a good automotive code reading solution for someone who has a little fleet of vehicles in the family of all makes and models. The higher-end tools (>$500) were a little expensive to justify for my purposes and the lower-end products (<$75) all seem to have limitations that really impact usability over a wide range of cars. This tool hits the middle ground nicely. Easy to use - the Bluetooth connection from the OBD reader to the handheld is strong and stable and it also does not tether you to the port.XTOOL provides responsive support for issues via email (thank you Evy!) - the manual could be improved but it will get you going in the right direction. The manual is also available as a pdf on the handheld itself which is convenient. They also provide free lifetime software updates for the device - quite a nice feature for a DIYer like me who doesn't have OBD update subscriptions in my budget. The touch screen works fine but you also have hardware buttons for navigation when your fingers are greasy. If you have any issues and need support, you may get the sense that you are doing a little beta testing for XTOOL, but in reality, their willingness to help makes the difference! All-in-all, a good value for a well-engineered product.

Amazing Bi-directional Scanner - cheap and works! FREE software updates!
This thing is awesome! To get a bi-directional scanner at this price is unbelievable. Others cost at least $200 or more. Professional ones will set you back thousands.Have a Prius Prime and could control all the windows and door locks - open and close. Also toggled all the indicators on the dash - turn signals, SRS symbol, Lane Departure, MIL, etc. Could turn on/off high/low beams, signals etc. Could read the tire pressure values as well as temperatures! Too bad my Toyota is so reliable! ;)

Would be a great value
Would be a great value, if it wasn't so quirky out of the box, looked impressive as far as capabilities and free updatability, unfortunately it didn't want to hook up to wifi, eventually got it connected to internet, unit said it was out of trial use and needed an update?? Tried to update but display had a message stating it couldn't update needed internet connection?? I wasn't going to wait to see what malfunction it came up with next, returned for refund, said because I had high hopes for this device
