I got this for my dad for a gift. He loves it!! It gives off a good amount of light and the quality is amazing. It’s perfect for a decorative lamp, or used in addition to other lighting!

I've found when buying cute little novelty items like this lamp you don't get a real sense of its quality or lack thereof unless buying five of them. I brought five of these lights and the outcome was not too good. First the good stuff. When you get a light where all its parts work it is a lovely little lamp. Some people say the lamp does not give much light. I think expecting an old squirrel cage incandescent light to put out the lumen's like a modern LED is unrealistic. This lamp and light bulb are meant to provide an old world industrial feel to a room. This is not task lighting it is pure accent lighting.If you want task lighting like what you would expect from a dedicated desktop lamp useful in filling out tax forms and the like the bulb that comes with this lamp isn't designed for the task. The lamp itself can accommodate a modern bright LED light which produces adequate task light. I put a GE LED Light stick in this lamp and it works well as a task light. This light is meant to be a conversation piece and a decor accent.Now the bad. One of five of these lights came with a broken bulb inside the triple sealed box which makes me think this happened before packing. The bigger issue is one of the lights came with a defective dimmer switch that only works if you hold the dimmer dial down. This is a cute light worth the price when you get one that works. Problem is with a 2 out of 5 failure rate quality control with this seller is really horrible and unacceptable.

I love the look of this lamp. The lightbulb gives it that final touch. It’s very well-made and people always look at it and say how awesome it is. My only complaint is the switch to turn it on and off. It’s like halfway down the wire. I think what would would’ve made this lamp a five star is it the red turning knob turn the lamp on and off. I was sad to see that the knob is just for show.

I love it! I dismantled to use in a lamp project as pictured. I needed something steampunk inspired with a little bit more color and this lamp was perfect. I also added the cage for a final touch. As stated in other reviews, the distance from the lamp to the dimmer switch is a bit long but for my purposes worked out great. Packaged well and nothing was broken including the free bulb.

Even w/ 40-W bulb, the lamp doesn't throw off enough light to light a room to a comfortable level without being so high as to hurt your eyes to look at it. The unit is certainly well-made and comes exactly as billed. It appears to have been constructed from genuine iron or steel plumbing fixtures. The power cord is a nice, textile variety and the dimmer works well. I'm happy enough to keep it, but it isn't the "five stars - I love it!" item for which I had hoped.

The wooden block on the bottom was broken when it arrived. I was able to fix it up with some wood glue, and you can't even tell. Otherwise, I would have given it a 5 star rating. It's a very cool looking lamp, and is exactly as described. I love the dimmer, so I can adjust the brightness (as it is a bed side lamp for me). Other than a minor breakage in shipping, this was a perfect purchase.

Perfect for what I needed. Well made and adds a nice touch for industrial look.
