It scoops as expected, but it also cleans the bowl or pot right out because the edge is soft and pliable like a spatula. Also gets marks for being a pretty pink! And, it hasn't stained at all or retained odours despite being used with stews that might leave both.

Bought a pink ladle, the color is very vibrant -- I would say even more than the picture. Definitely not a pastel pink, but it's cute enough regardless! There is a dark spot on the inside of the ladle that does not show well on the picture, but no matter how much I scrub at it, I can't wash it off (The reason for knocking off a star). It still does the job though. I've made some pretty vivid soups with it, and it hasn't been stained yet.Do keep in mind that it is made of pure silicone, so you can expect the sturdiness to be that way too. It's not floppy, as it holds up soup pretty well, and the flexibility is also a plus if you're buying it for that. If you want a ladle that's rock solid however, don't invest in this one -- metal or wood alternatives would work great.Being rather small, the ladle handle is no longer than around nine inches. The spoon part is also not too deep, and it can't scoop up too much soup at once. However, this size makes it convenient for travel or dorm usage, so there's pros in it too. Just depends on what kind of ladle you're looking for in what kind of culinary usage. It's great if you're using it for small portions of food!

Needed an extra ladle and at first was put off by the soft rubber edges of the tip of the handle and rim of the spoon.However, I decided I could use it as a spare and while ladeling some gravy I found that the wide edge of the spoon acts almost like a rubber spatula for scraping leftovers out of the pan so I upgraded from 3 to 4 stars.I wish I'd understood what I was buying, though, since only the handle contains metal reinforcement. I don't remember that being mentioned in the sales info.
