Q: What is actual color? Looks black or dark brown, but omeone said it was blue.

It's hard to say, it looks black but at the same time could be a very dark brown. There is a little blue up top. Either way, it is a very nice mug and I love mine regardless of the color, but it all match.

Q: The product description says it is resin but it looks like pottery. Is it really resin; i.e., plastic?

It is resin I bought it for a self display not a coffee mug, they have other sellers that offer the pottery style for the coffee drinkers
