Looks like I colored my hair - love it!
I’ve been using this shampoo for a few years now and thought it was time to review because I keep getting so many compliments. I use different colors to accentuate my hair color. From the light blonde to the red, they all perform well. Th color is true to the label and it lasts quite a while (through several shampoos). I get so many compliments that I had to share. I also find that using this shampoo enables me to color my hair less frequently, which I think is healthier and saves me $$. I know they are pricey, but I find a bottle lasts a long time because you don’t need to use it often. Note, my hair is very fine, naturally blonde, and short, so that needs to be factored in.

3 Year, Multi-shade Review
I have used these products several times between 2017 and now (2020). My hair is naturally light brown with dirty blond natural highlights. I typically lighten it one or two levels (I’ve found dark blonde or light brown with highlights sufficient for most of my color goals) before using these products. I usually wear My hair various shades of auburn, or occasionally bright colors. My hair is naturally fine, dry and porous, and I put it through a lot, but I found these products to be very gentle. For a boost, the instructions state to use this on dry hair and let it set. Just like other hair colors, any added products, which my hair requires daily, particularly oils (argon oil, coconut oil, biosilk, garnier sleek, etc.) will prevent the color from setting in to its full potential. You need clean “naked” hair, wet or dry.Viral ShadesLavender: This is a VERY blue shade. I bought this first because I wanted light purple. It isn’t. Eventually, I found that mixing this, hot pink, and purple got the multidimensional medium pinkish purple shade I was going for. It is lighter, so it requires more buildup to get to the correct shade, and, it will merely have the effect of a purple shampoo on dark (medium brown to black) hair.Hot pink: I used this in combination with the above for my pink-purple look, alone when transitioning from that to pink only, and more recently in combination with gemlites tourmaline to achieve a bright coral. This is one of the most effective color depositing shades. I used it alone at first, and my dirty blonde hair ended up brightly jewel toned pink. I love it. This shade is also the hardest of the ones I’ve used to ultimately wash out, but I found it easy to cover over.Purple: Also one of the most effective shades. On light hair, end result is bright purple. On dark tones, becomes a purple-black or dark burgundy type shade. Very effective and great shade.Gem lightsThese are slightly less powerful than the viral washes, and are meant to be more like toners than color depositors.Fire opal: This shade is a medium red with orange tones. I have used this by itself to maintain dark or medium auburn shades, or in combination with tourmaline to maintain bright orange, ginger type colors.Tourmaline: Yellow orange shade. Labeled as strawberry, but I found it excellent for brightening ginger and copper shades. This is one of my favorite overall products, because it tends to work with many of my ideas. It made my coral pop in combination with viral pink! These are versatile, gentle products. Great for people who want to have fun, but also change their minds. I used them in summer time when I was in college and a teach for a fun change with minimal damage and ease of use.

Love the color, but very drying
I admit it’s a little pricey, but I think it’s worth it. I love the color it adds, and it lasts a few washes, which is nice. It does really dry out your hair though, which is not a problem I usually have. I only use this about once a week, and alternate between other shampoos/conditioners that help to put the moisture back in, which I think is essential with this shampoo.

Perfect to cover growth
I colored my hair about 4 weeks ago and had 1/4 inch of blonde/white roots. This photo is after just 1 shampoo. It’s super easy to just shampoo in, I didn’t use much since I have short hair. Super excited to have something that works so I don’t have to go to the salon so soon.UPDATE: It's about a month later and I have used the GEM shampoo about 6 times, not every shampoo. I found that it is very drying to my scalp and hair and makes my scalp itch around the sides. Otherwise, the color is still nice and looks better after I wash with the GEM shampoo. I'll probably stop using is for a month and see if the itchy scalp stops.

Great color deposit
I’m putting this out here to help somebody that might want to see it. The extension on the left is the original color obviously and the right one is tourmaline. I did not let it sit long. I just put it in comb it through and then rinsed it out and that’s the color it became, I thought somebody might be interested so they could see what quick application looks like on highlighted /dyed hair

Didnt work for my white hair
I'm a natural redhead who's going white on the sides of my head. I usually use Keracolor Clenditioner in Copper, but wanted to try something different so I went with this stuff in the shade Tourmaline in hopes to turn my white hair into a strawberry blonde. It barely took the color at all. I mean I can see a hint of it, but I still see visible white. I shampooed with this product twice. The first time I left it on for a good 15 minutes; the second time maybe 5-10 minutes. I will keep using it in hopes that it might eventually work, but will probably go back to Keracolor.

You might have better results.
I really wanted to love this. I’m a natural strawberry blonde but it seems like my red is fading, so I was looking for something to bring the fire back to my hair. I tried using this a few different ways, putting on wet hair just like a normal shampoo. Applying it to dry hair. Letting it sit for a few minutes and also rinsing it immediately after lathering. The ends of my hair were bleached and that’s about the only place the pigment stuck to. I kinda figured that would happen but I wanted to try it anyways. It kind of just gave my hair more of a yellow/orange tint. The only way I could really get the color to show up was to wash my hair 2-3 times in one sitting and my hair felt like hell after. In my case it’s not worth the price to not get close to the results I was hoping for.

Recommended by my hairdresser who uses it herself!
It's hard to stay red in between coloring but this really helps!

Beautiful Strawberry Blonde
This product has restored my strawberry blonde colour after just one use. I was sceptical that a shampoo would make much difference, but it is amazing. My natural colour had faded slightly to more of a blonde colour. This has restored it to my natural original shade.

Perfect!
It was exactly what I was looking for. I have natural strawberry blonde hair and in the summer I lose the red streaks because of the sun. This is just the right amount of copper to keep my hair looking awesome. It's pricey but honestly worth it since I don't have the guts to dye it.

Wow! Noticeable after 1 wash
I recently had my hair died a beautiful copper/strawberry blonde. It faded quite fast and started to feel more dull with shades of light brown then reds. I ordered this shampoo after lots of research and off the first wash and brought back my beautiful colour. I was scared it would turn me red or orange but not the case at all. I absolutely love this shampoo!
