Q: How do you use this on rectangular tables that have rounded corners? How do you keep the rounded corners from looking crinkly?

Not a perfect solution, but it gives decent results. Make 4 to 6 cuts radially. Cut any overlap. Press the pieces against the corner. Cut a piece that matches the thickness of the table, extending 2 inches on each side of the corner, and tape over the round corner.
